Love they say is a universal language. You can love anyone of whatever age. However, when it comes comittment to a love relationship things change and vary as per the sorounding situation(s).It's a truth that ladies develop at a faster rate than men. Taking a lady and a man of similar ages, you will find that the lady is sharper than the man. Emotionally, it might not hold true since some men/ladies develop quicker depending on the environment they have been brought up in.
We must also appreciate that we grow in stages.[e.g. there is child-hood, teenage,adolescent,etc.] if the said person happens to be in a stage ahead of you, chances are that you will not relate in a healthy way;they may unconsciously be seeing you as their minor;and you see them as your senior(s).
If however the age gap is minimal where it does not traverse the stages there are chances of progress. There is also the issue of the legal minimum age to be considered. Maturity in both parties is indispensable!!You must know what you are doing where you are going and aspiring to be/get out of the relationship. Apart from the "love-chemistry" that may be there, other factors not emotional have to be incorporated. A person's interests,vision for life, orientation in society, etc.
If all necessary precautions are taken, then we would say it's ok.
{I however must admit that this is not a conclusive or comprehensive account but hope it helps you..}

It depends: a six-year difference is a lot when you're 18, but not when you're 35.

Here's an example to illustrate how I look at it: suppose a 20-year-old guy flirts with a 16-year-old girl. She feels flattered.

But turn the sexes around: if a 20-year-old young woman flirted with a 16-year-old teen boy, we'd all think she's nuts.

That's enough to tell you that it's not a healthy attraction. If a 20-year-old guy is flirting with a girl four years younger, it shows he has some problem socializing with gals his own age.

It depends on a lot of factors.

1. If one of you is not of legal age, NO.

2. If the older person is in a position of power or influence (i.e. a teacher, boss, etc.), NO.

3. If the relationship is abusive in any way (physical, mental/emotional, sexual), NO.

4. If you two love and respect each other, are in the relationship consentually, and are better people for it, YES.

I love someone who is younger then me. I don't think age is in the way of our relationship. Yet this is just me... you might want to talk to who ever this is about and work it out between the two of you.
