It's a piece of cake in California. You go to the correct office, fill out a bunch of paperwork, show ID, and get your wedding license. Make sure you order an official final copy (or whatever it's called) for yourself. You then give the incomplete license to the person who marries you, he signs it, your witnesses sign it (2 of them), and the officiant mails it off. Within 60 days, you should get your official copy in the mail. That's it! : )

I got married in so cali in 2003. It was simple. My husband and I went to the court house and requested a marriage license. It doesn't cost to much at all. We were not married by the judge though. We had our wedding in a chapel. If you marry the way we did. You will have to give the pastor, father, priest, ect. the marriage license when he performs the ceromony. When you are done saying the I Do's then the every one will sign off on the license ( you, your spouse, the witness(s), and the pastor). Then you just mail it off to the address that is on the paper and you will recieve your mariage certificate a few weeks later.

Gee, it's so easy, it's ridiculous. All you have to do is go to the records dept. at the courthouse where you'll fill out a marriage form for a few dollars. Then get in line to get married by a judge, which is free. If you've been living together, there's no blood test.
