We accross the world use Arabic on our prayers & even on our conversations( Eg: Salam).
In Saudi it was the national language and it was the language of the Prophet also.
Similarly Quran says Being Arabic is the language of Mohammed we have sent this quran in Arabic Lanuage. And now were in Quran or in Hadith it is been mentioned that we need tp do the Prayers / conversations only in arabic.
Even on the prayer call we use arabic, in which among muslims itself we dont understand what is been called on the Prayer call.
Why are we still using arabic which is not known to us & not understandable.
According to me the local language shall be used so that people understand the teachings of Islam.(both Muslims & non muslims.
Pls answer this thru Quran & Hadith.

yes. Arabic is the language of islam for when it was sent on the prorhet and to the people of Mecca, it should have been in Arabic so they would understand it. and still nowadays it is the language of Quran but Quran has been translated to many different languages to make it easier for people who are not Arabs to understand it and know what it is saying... in my opinion, the local language can be used in teaching Quran and Hadith and in the call prayers as well... but arabic language has to be learned in order to recite Quran in prayers and so.. although i believe that God can understand every language u say because he knows what u mean and what is in your heart...
if it was a condition to learn Arabic language before reading or learning about Islam or Quran, it will be very hard for many to become Muslims and we don't want that

Some scholars have said it is better using the local language that people understand. However, some things like prayer must be said in Arabic although your dua can be in any language.

Islam is for all people, all time. You can still be a good Muslim if you do not know Arabic, however it is recommended, to be able to read the Quran and hadith in their origibal form.

As salaamu 'alaikym. Insha'Allah, when one begins to study any religion, regardless of what that religion is, one needs also to become knowledgeable of the cultural and societal environment from which the same arose or originated. Learning the original language of revelation is also of great importance if one wishes to be well able to accurately interpret and understand such revelations as each individual language has a richness of expression that may not (and usually does not) translate well into other languages so as to convey the fullest meaning. When looking at the current interpretation of a religion, which is usually very different from the original understanding of the same as is the case with modern Judaism, Christianity and Islam, as well as Buddhism and virtually, if not literally, any and every other faith or lived philosophy, one must become familiar with the history of the development of the practice as well as the history of the people of origin and the politics, culture, society associated with the same. Nothing ever arises or is developed in a "vaccumm" so one must consider all of the elements one can so as to arrive at the best understanding possible in the hopes of attaining to the truth that each contains. All that exist is obviously interdependent on all else that exist and, therefore, interacts with every thing else. Jazak'Allah, khair for the thoughtfulness of your question and for seeking the truth as you remember that the truth is "One" but the paths to the same are many. Insha'Allah, may we all be rightly guided. ma'a salaam.

Yup, I'm a fluent Arabic speaking Lebanese christian. It is not a superior language. Most people in Lebanon who go to school are trilingualer and they definitely don't like Arabic a lot. I find it a complicated language with hard grammar and very rough. It has some phonics which are hard to learn and pronounce. You must be brought up in an arabic speaking home to learn that language. Also most lebanese christians (a few muslims) prefer to speak in English Arabic and French instead of just Arabic. I certainely dont think of it as a poetic language.

Arabic is the language of Qura'an.
Islam could be in any language.
I have seen people of many nations, who understand Islam teachings in their national language.
This has been the case in the past 1400 years of Islam, it was never a problem. In the past for many people , their love and devotion for Islam drove them to learn Arabic, now some people started being sensitive of the Arabic language and feeling it is a burden. Qura'an can only be in Arabic, and it has been translated to most of the major languages in the world.
Studies about Islam teaching and Hadeeth teachings are available in most languages too.

perhaps itslike the churches used to be, only the educated could read latin, yet all bibles and prayer books were printed only in latin until well into the 19th century. It was a way of controlling the population by them having to believe the clergy and educated( who were also the rich people) on any subject.

The official language of Paradise will be Arabic.

This language is more supperior then other languages in term of structure, grammer etc.
you can imagine it has vast collectioon of name of a single object e.g. for camal it has a big collection of names concerning to his each and every emotion, look etc.

Thats why its a powerful and most of all Quran was also revealed in this language which simplly proofs its vastness.

Hope i answer the question
