I find it quite disturbing and hope those people are not representative of America and the rest of the world...but a subclass of antisocial yahoos. What do you think? I know racism is alive and thriving, but is it as prevalent as it appears on this site?

The Issue is Illegal Immigration, Which is a very hot topic for many. There are only two sides in my view , legal or not, Right or wrong. People, being what they are, will try any tactic or mean trick to gain support or discredit an opponent. You see it in this forum on a daily basis. This is a tough place to hang out. Have fun!!

Considering how many people all over the world have access to Yahoo, the racists are probably a small minority. The difference is that they are radical in their views and go to extremes in stating them. They can and will repeat, debate, and defend their opinions to no end. That is why they are so obvious. I resolve that nothing I say would make a difference to them, so I try not to let them have too much influence on myself or my views.

No, I don't think racists are the majority on Yahoo Answers. I think you are looking for racist types of posters, so you are drawn to those. I don't look at them, for the most part. You can tell who they are by their questions and after you have seen one or two, you can just ignore them and don't even open up their questions. If they don't get the responses they are looking for, they will just fade away. By the same token, I must say there are a lot of "reverse" racists on this site, too, and I also try to avoid them.

I know its scary!.....
They truly remind me of Nazi Germany back in the day. You know Germans were racist even before Hitler took over. It was a natural progression to accept a dictator who would annihilate a group of people who's only crime was being a minority...
I don't think it is a majority that feel this way, however, i have heard as of late, many right wing pun dents speaking against illegals and using isolated incidents to further promote their agenda....

I think there are a lot of neocons on here who are racist, among other things, like homophobes.
Their target these days are the Mexican people!
I hope they aren't representative, but they seem to regurgitate their views, often just statements with no evidence!

The only racist on the immigration issue are the pro illegal alien side. It is not racist to want our border protected no matter what you might think.

It is not easy to "feel" that people don't want or understand you. Which is not the case-many have reasons to say- no more people it hurts others in survival-Sorry your feelings are hurt.
Sometimes No is hard and misunderstood.

I personally think it's probably a few using different nicknames but the things they say are scary and I would hope no one else has they're views in real life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
