Because girls are shy to look at their own genitals and they don't see them as something terribly sexy so they think you'll be put off by the sight of them. That and they probably have some reservations about how far you guys are taking it sexually.

We put on an act of modesty but we really don't care how much you see.
You can see my genitals if you want to look but don't stare.

Have YOU ever really looked at male or female genitalia? Why do you think they call it bumping uglies? Neither are the prettiest things in the world.
