Terrible twos is the worst. It is overall that two is the worst age, your son could, of course, be different.

It's not the age. It's the child.
My 4 year old did not throw tantrums at 2. He got everything he wanted, and was spoiled by not only his parents, but his older siblings. Now, at his current age, we're trying to show him how to be independent, so he throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way.
My 11 yr old throws tantrums when she doesn't get her way.
My 8 yr old sulks and cries in her room when she doesn't get her way.
My 9 yr old will throw a tantrum and tell me that he hates me when he doesn't get his way.
My 13 yr old will sulk and cry in his room when he is grounded.
So, as you can see, it never ends. It starts around, oh I think I recall about 1 1/2 or so...
And continues until they leave the home.
And when they leave the home and they're mad at you, they just don't call.
I know this - because my brother is 43 and doesn't talk to our father when our father doesn't give him money. I call that "adult tantrums."

Every book I read says that every child develops at a different rate. Therefore, this question is difficult to answer. My 20 month old has thrown terrible fits since she was 8 months old, and is extremely smart for her age! She already counts to 10! And my 7 month old can barley lift up her head yet, whereas when my 20 month old was 7 months she was already cruising! Therefore, from experience and books and doctors, I would have to say, that this question depends on the child's development.

I bet it depends on the child. Though I'm sure a the typical 2 year old has the most. They are just learning to control they're emotions at all. Distraction is still the best technique to get them to stop something, yet they sometimes have to accept no for an answer...now that's got to be difficult for them.

I agree with you. My son was an angel up until he was about 4. He's 5 now, and is still a handful sometimes. Every child is different.

im not going to agree just to agree...my middle child a boy was the most tantrum filled child at the age of 4...we even made up a nick name for him when he threw his fits. when he had a tantrum out in public we called him by his nick name and it really got to him... we said if your going to act like a different child, were going to call you by another name. we would also tell him if he thought his little tantrum throwing friend was going to show up today please make sure you show him to the door. oh, by the way the nick name was FRED!! fred left when my son turned 5. thank the lord.

Well hello there.I have a four year old son who throws tantrums about anything and everything.Specially when he is tired, hungry or sleepy.I don't know when it will stop, but at least i know the reasons by now.Never give in.Don't let him think he can do that to get his way.For example ,when my son is hungry,he'll ask for candy,I'll say no he'll throw a tantrum.I'll just ignore him.Than he'll ask for ice cream.Again no +tantrum,he'll ask for gam,no+tantrum. After all he'll ask for dinner first.so i think i winn.
