Thanks everyone, I have to have it the old fashioned way, no laporocoply, since have had a laporocopy in the past and 2 c sections, i have too much scar tissue to do it the easy way. Thank you everyone

It took me about a week to recover. It was painful for me and I felt like my guts were going to spill out, but thank goodness I got some pain meds and it went better after that. Be sure to have someone around to take care of you for a couple days since it will be difficult to even get up and walk around. Good luck!

Yes I've had my gallbladder removed. about 6 years ago. It involved a newer surgery of cutting three small holes on your body. It is less invasive so the recovery time is much less than the older technique. I can eat things I could not eat before I had the surgery. The older techinque involved a huge cut across the front of the body which my mother had. This new approach is way better on the body. I felt absolutely wonderful in a very short time after surgery.

A lot of doctors are using the laprascopic approach. This leaves about 4-5 tiny incisions and is tolerated better. Sometimes there is no choice but to open the abdominal wall and recovery is longer.Avoiding fatty foods help after wards. They should give you the diet requirements right after surgery.Get better soon and ask as many question that you need. It helps to write them down so you won't forget and have a friend taking notes so there is no confusion. Good luck and get well soon.

I had mine removed when I was 17. I've had nine other surgeries, and I can honestly say my gallbladder was the easiest one I've had done. It's a simple laparoscopic and outpatient procedure. You should be feeling back to your old self within a few days.

Good luck!
