And a healthy dose of mythology would help.

Despite the claim made on the opening page that all artworks and historical references made in the book are accurate, they aren't. This is confirmed by Christian, and non-biased historical sources alike. There's no question about it, the Da Vinci Code is full of fabricated stuff. Many people read a few isolated verses, from different parts of the Bible, and think that they've found a contradiction. Remember that there are two parts to the Bible: the one where people lived by a specific law that God designed for his people, and one where poeple live by grace and love. I have never found a contradiction in the Bible. There are many things that have temporarily confused me, but it was a problem with me not seeing the answer in context. God does not contradict himself. Try reading "Evidence that Demands a Verdict."

First off, the Bible isn't full of contradictions, it is full of truth.

But I guess you actually mean the book the Da Vinci Code is based on, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail". I'm not sure how many contradicitions are in it but there are plenty of historical and theological mistakes (and to the best of my knowledge, the Da Vinci Code used all of them!).

Or maybe you mean the books the Holy Blood, Holy Grail is "based" on (the Gnostic Gospels). They all are greatly different from each other, yet they all claim to be the real truth. And none of them ever say that Jesus married Mary Magdelene.

Dan Brown is nothing but a cunning writer where he found a safe base to start his game. The base from where he started his book is already well known to the whole world and so he had no doubt that his book would a best seller. His mind is nothing better than that of a crazy street boy who tries to spoil or tarnish a sculpture or a statue or a painting that was admired by rest of the world. He succeeded in doing it. The act can be compared with that of the Talibans who destroyed the Budha’s statue. Here, I am not comparing their aims.

Now to the Christian world and the Roman Catholic Church I have a question. If your God is powerful, why don’t you leave the matter to Him to handle? Is not your almighty God powerful enough to handle a Dan Brown, if his views are against Him?

Dan Brown, Salman Rushdie, Kazantzakkis etc.are all such writers who had another indirect aim in their minds that fame is easy when they try to tarnish a famous matter. Keeping aside their literary talents there is nothing worth admiring. But they succeeded and the media and whole world are being fooled. Moreover, when one religion is insulted the rest rejoice. This is another key point of their success.

There are no contradictions in the DaVinci Code. If you can't understand it, it's just because you do not have the Holy Spirit within you. Dan Brown's word is eternal, and he sent his only son to Heaven to die for us so that we might be baptised in his blood and see the Kingdom of Heaven. All hail Dan Brown.

Hmm, from what I heard, it was based on the research of two discredited "historical" books. Since, it IS full of contradictions like those books, I don't see how it would change.

no, because the davinci code is full of rumors and lies, was from the start and still is.
example of rumor- Mona Lisa is DaVinci himself is in drag. (that one is so old the author probably had to blow the dust off of it!)
example of outright lie- "the priory of sion" didn't exist until 1958 and there is video of a confession of the french conman that filed the fake papers for this organization.
source- the History Channel.

perhaps...

Some of the other answerers seem to be confused about the definition of contradiction.

The book never claimed to be true. It's in the fiction section. They're not contradictions, they're just part of a made-up story.

it's in the blood of human beings to be curios about things .
so when a contradiction is brought in they get more attracted . ofcourse we must keep in mind that the forbidden fruit is the sweetest. if one accepet the book for the way its is written it is the best fiction of the decade.
if christianity could suvive 2000 years i dont think dan could accomplish what soul (st. paul) couldn't in his early days of anti christianity

most of the people who said no against this question may be the one who saw the movie in t he fisrt show . he may be a hondu /christian/... b. but the problem is with the logic they came out . it is absolutely great to study against the things which are excisting veryu famously. but blaming on any bodies life , especially a dead person's is not good. people may believe or not in jesus. but saying or presenting some thing against him is a courageous move ment and because of this decision he made his name strong in the professional field. the rejection shows that every body accept the film but not the logic.
