i went through years of depression ever since i was little. I am 19 now and still have it. But my depression was different than your case. I think everyone has there own cure of things. But mine took lots of therapy and i had to find the right therapist and also take medication. My "right" therapist was a real therapist but was also just a friend to listen to anything i had to say. Depression is a chemical in balance of the brain by the way. You may jsut need to keep your self busy from thinking about your down sides of life. Look at the bright side of things! You could have had kids with her or got married and would have lost EVERYTHING including our kids. Just look at it as it wasnt ment to be, if it was you would have stayed together instead of finding another person. Not everyone is the same which also go's for "not everyone is ment for each other"

No current out right cure for depression exists...and you don't sound like a clinical case meriting medical psychological treatments. You're just a guy on the skids because of the classic "woman leaves man for someone else". You aren't the first nor the last to have such happen to you.
What do you mean you "were" the top sound guy? You can reach that very same status back: it was your passion, right?
Passion and skill (both that you have) can be very useful on your way to a comeback--which you can make with a little effort. Chill and rest a bit, plan your moves back into the biz. When you're ready---get the buzz out and make that comeback.

Why would you let your stable life fall apart for anyone else? Thats too iffy....and now you get nothing. Lesson learned I hope. Jump right back on track and make something of yourself and forget her. She's not worth the tears or you beating yourself up. You've got the smarts to carry a business, just get your self right back up there and start anew :) YOU can do this! Life has it's ups and downs, you must do this to get on with your life and I have a feeling you will succeed again :)

You may not believe this now but you need to forgive her, not for her but for you so that you can move on. I know how you feel. I think you are the one who answered my question "Low and down hearted". Forgiveness is very powerful and it can help you to move on and don't be ashamed to go to a professional and talk to them because that's what they are there for. I am talking to one and it does help me. As a matter of fact I'm going tomorrow. I'm so sorry about what happen. I would love to have a man like you. She is the one that is missing out. It will get better. Just take it one day at a time. If you want to talk to someone, you can talk to me. I need a shoulder and so do you.

There is no cure for depression, but there are lots of treatments. See your doctor and decide what treatment would be right for you. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and is sometimes controlled with anti-depressant medications such as Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Prozac, etc.

Look, I had, had depression for along time, it sucks, it not only hurts you mentally, but also physically, somedays I felt like I couldnt even give up. No pills ever worked for me, nor did going to any shrink, I had to help myself, tell myself I could do it, it took awhile but I made it. You have to have self confidence(sp) if you dont, it will take awhile to get over your depression.

Take your time. Cry if you feel like, time is the better answer. Think about your business and get involve with your work, try talk with other persons and every time you think about her, try think in others things. Take easy...
