You hire a hit man to kill you while your boyfriend is around. If he jumps in front of the bullet, then he loves (or should I say loved) you. If he lets you die, then I don't think it was going to work out.

Date Doctor here, now this is tricky. But you have to ask a set of questions that relate to your relationship. Here they are
1. where did you two first meet?
(if he can get this exactly then your at a start)
2. How long have the two of you been dating?
(now us men usually have a hard time with question we can never get it exactly but if he can get close to your answer then he's on a roll)
3. if you two have a special song that the two of you really like ask him to name it.
(this is just to test ho much he knows you)
4. Then ask the big question How much do you love me?
(if he hesitates, or rolls his eyes and says girl you know i love you then he just might not be the one, but if he answers and he looks you in the eyes while he's saying this then he loves you. But make sure he has answered all the other questions before you get to that one. Oh yeah so that you dont annoy him you have to do this gradually so asks a question everyday until you get to the BIG ONE. so 4 questions it should take 4 days good luck.

You have to answer this question honestly first: Is he trustworthy, and is he respectable? In my humble opinion, that's basically what he needs to be capable of loving anyone.
To know whether he loves you specifically, two questions:
Does he respect you, the things that are important to you (even if they aren't important to him), your job (assuming it's important to you), your dreams, your dignity (especially around other people), your vulnerabilities?
Does he trust you with the things that are important to him, with how he actually feels about you and what you do, with his own fears and insecurities, with the things he enjoys doing?
No guarantee, but if you can trust and respect him, and if he trusts and respects you, well, that's a good indicator.

PUT HIM IN A SITUATION WITH ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS THAT HE HAS NEVER MEET AND TELL HER TO HIT ON HIM AND IF HE FLIRTS WITH THEN YOU CAN TELL BUT IF HE DOESNT THAT MEANS HE LOVES YOU
