I'm so sick of the non smokers telling us smoker where we can smoke. They are trying to band smoking all together. What's up with that?

I got to say one thing, I smoke outside, it's not my fault that you non smokers seem to come up to my space and say something to me. I step away but they seem to come closer, so am I to be blamed?

I don't know about 'outside', I think that's rather harsh.
Non smokers should just hold their breath when they see a swarm of billows of smoke and short sticks attached to it outside a doorway.

Your right to swing your fist stops when it hits someone's nose... in the same vein you have no right to inflict your second hand smoke onto other people (although factories do it every day) so I would say smoking outdoors is fine so long as there are no other people around you who don't like it. And its "ban" not "band".
The cost of taking care of people with smoking related illness has gotten so high that something must be done about it or it will bankrupt the health care system in this country. That's why the big push to ban smoking, its all about the money. The extra tax money you pay for the cigarettes isn't enough after all the greedy politicians get their cut first. Sorry.

Smoking kills and secondary smoke is WORSE than actually smoking. Smokers also put a strain on the health care system. Smokers should be put into a small room where the air is filtered and then sent outside.

i use to smoke. I quit a while back. so this may sound odd coming from a non smoker. i dont see how they can ban smoking on the outside. it isnt right. if you want to smoke you should be able to light up anywhere outside. the outside is for smokers as well as nonsmokers. can they really ban smokers from smoking outside? i just dont understand how they can do that.

For the same reason that I want people to stop polluting the earth with all of their toxic chemicals. I was a heavy smoker for 20 years and I now find the smell repulsive. I quit many years ago.

I am an ex-smoker, and now I just find the odor of cigarette smoke very annoying. I don't care if you smoke, just do it where I don't have to smell it. I have as much right to clean air as you do to smoke.

This doesn't make sense to me either.
These are the same people who will drive their large vehicles(pollution) to a campground, liberally spray lighter fluid on wood and burn it all night, (breathing the smoke), then char meat over a grill (breathing the smoke), spray some bug spray chemicals on themselves (breathing it in). Come Monday morning after a long commute in traffic with their windows open, if they walk past a person smoking a cigarette on the sidewalk they will blame them for exposing them to the risk of carcinogens. Grrrrr.....

FROM THE SAME RIGHT THAT YOU SHOULDN'T KILL, SHOULDN'T SELL ILLEGAL DRUGS. IT'S BEEN PROVEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN THAT SECOND HAND SMOKE IS HAZARDOUS TO OUR HEALTH. NO DOUBT, SMOKERS ALWAYS CONTENDS THAT WE DO OTHER STUFFS THAT ARE ALSO HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH. BUT THAT IS WHY THE LAWS ARE ALWAYS CHANGING TO TACKLE ONE PROBLEM AT A TIME. WHILE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CREATE A SET OF PERFECT LAWS THAT COULD GOVERN OUR WORLD OR MAKE IT PERFECT, THIS IS ONE OF MANY THAT WILL MAKE IT BETTER FOR MOST OF US. MAY BE YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THE REASON BEHIND IT BETTER ONE DAY, WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CHILDREN, OR WHEN SOMEONE YOU KNOW DIES FROM IT.
