I don't want to have to wash my hair everytime I want to counteract the effect of styling spritz and to unstiffened my hair. On the flip side, I don't want to apply a lot of oil to my hair becuase that oil aggravate my acne.

Which products I could use?

I'm black and to maintain a straight look for my hair, I have my hair regulary, relaxed (chemically treated) to straightened out the length of hair that grew in over the past six weeks.

Therefore, I at most wash my hair on a weekly basis becuase my hair daily will decrease the time I can go without having my hair relaxed, therefore increasing my monthly bill to upkeep my hair.

Also, my hair doesn't become oily enough to require daily shampooing. In fact, daily washing will make my scalp very dry and irritated.

Well, I'm not all that much black myself, probably some in my background, isn't everybody a little mixed anyway? But I aways have the same type of problem just because of ordinary hairspray, like when it gets crumpled after a nap, or whatever. I just take a washcloth, wet it with water, (you might like hot water even better), wring it out good, and rub it all over my hair so it ends up damp but not exactly wet. That seem to remove whatever needs to be removed, and soften the hair so it regains what I'm looking for, then stop a couple of minutes, so as to wait a little bit for it to dry, then comb or brush it back to what I want. Works for me. Hopefully for you too! LOL

Use mild shampoo. There are many shampoos that have strong detergents that can strip the scalp of moisture. Dryness can lead to an itchy scalp that can make you even more miserable. Purchase a shampoo that is specifically designed for oily hair. Look for the word "clarifying" on the bottle as these products are specifically designed to remove hairstyling product build-up such as gel, mousse, and hairspray. 2 Do not use a moisturizing shampoo. It will only contribute to the problem. The ingredients will weigh heavily on your hair, causing it to look oily. 3 Do not scrub your hair when you wash it. You may be tempted to rub your scalp harder but it is one of the worst things that you can do. The sebaceous glands in your scalp will go into over-drive and crank up the production of oil. Gently lather in the shampoo with your fingertips 4 Stop conditioning your hair. Some people have enough oil so that it's not necessary to condition. If you feel it is necessary, try using a mild conditioner that can be used every day. Never apply conditioner to the scalp. Apply it halfway down your hair to the ends. 5 Skip a few washings if possible. This can help to stabilize the oil production of your hair. It may be hard to tolerate the look of oily hair as the hours go by, but if you can live through this, many people are pleasantly surprised with the results. The best thing that women can do for their locks is to pin their hair up with a clip and forget about it for a few days. 6 Experiment with different hairstyling products. Note the results after you use them. Notice if some products make your hair greasier than others and stop using them. Avoid the use of products that contain alcohol. These can be extremely drying to the scalp and it will make the problem worse.

I usually brush my hair to remove product. Consult with your pro stylist for the best brush for your hair. Probably something with boars hair.

Sally Beauty supply makes a waterless hair cleanser. They used to use this stuff all of the time, back in the day before blow dryers and the like came along. This stuff is good because it generally isn't irritating to the scalp since your applying it to the hair. You could probably get away with using it once in between washings to make it look "new" again.

baby powder works for me. But can only go one day without washing it out. And if you put too much in you look like you have gray hair.
Just a little bit works. Put it on your brush and brush your hair out. Good luck

i like the shampoo by Motions for both relaxed & natural hair - it doesn't strip the hair shaft & it replaces the oils needed to maintain your relaxer...

i HATE styling spritz - too high in alcohol & it does irrevocable damage to permed hair. the best thing to do is to wet it to remove the spritz...brushing it out will cause breakage.
