Record in Alabama is 40lb for a channel and 111lb for blue catfish, not sure of length. I've saw one like the divers saw once,it was charged up (telephoned) behind lock and damn at Millers Ferry,AL and looked 12ft. long, belly was 3ft across. Wouldn't be live if hadn't seen with my own eyes!

I have heard a story of 2 divers searching our local river for a drowning victim and seeing catfish as big as them under the bridge in about 75 feet of water. I have only seen them caught about 60 lbs locally.

The largest I caught was a 53lbs and 51 inches long. I have seen one 58 lbs .... but in Africa they have ones reach 100 lbs.... the International Game Fish Association recognized a 202 lbs from Khazakstan back in 1999.
