Why do people call his death a huge sacrafice that wiped all sin from man? You do realize taht you worship him as a God, which basically means he died to become a God. What is the sacrafice in that? That is like me sacraficing a 5 dollar lottery ticket and in return winning the 200 million dollar powerball. Yet everywhere I turn, people are forcing the "but Jesus sacraficed himself for you". No he didnt, the Romans sacraficed him for them and he became all powerful... big freakin sacrafice.

well i hope u don't get rude answers back. i think the sacrifice thing is because there are 3 parts to God - the father, jesus and the holy spirit. he (all 3 parts, the trinity) existed before jesus' time, so he actually didn't die to BECOME god, he died because he sacrificed the SON part of the trinity as payment for the sins that man had been part of ever since the garden of eden. i think another reason people say what u said, "but jesus sacrificed himself for you" is because he did so many miracles that he could have escaped from death on the cross but he chose not to. his miracles were pretty amazing and makes for a great read in the books of matthew thru john in the bible. i really hope u find what u r looking for, because this was a really good question. asking questions is a good way to find out answers, and there's nobody who can fault u for that. i have seen some pretty amazingly rude christians online tonight, so that's kinda why i'm being extra apologetic about hoping nobody is rude when they answer. jesus wasn't rude or sarcastic, they shouldn't be either.

First of all,

1) Jesus was God to begin with, from His birth. His death did not make Him God. His death was a sacrifice for our sins, but it did not make Him God because he was God all along.

2) The Romans did kill Him, yes, but He didn't fight back. He was God, and He could've fought back, but He knew what He had to do for His children (us).

3) His death was not the only sacrifice. His entire life was a sacrifice. He could've stayed in Heaven with His Father (that's the whole confusing Trinity thing), but He had to come to Earth and die for our sins.

I know this all sounds kind of strange, but it's that whole "faith factor." You've just got to believe.

I think what you're not understanding is that He was always "all powerful." He performed incredible miracles, and He blessed many. You may want to do some research on Jesus' life, like the miracles He performed and His resurrection.

Even if you don't support Christianity, please don't put Christian beliefs down. We all have our own beliefs and we should respect each others' beliefs. Although I don't support Christians that force beliefs on other people, I don't think it's right to put Christians down.

Well, I hope this helps clarify things a bit. :)

Let's see... God decided that mankind was in trouble. He needed to walk on earth to help mankind, but, God won't break His own rules(one of His rules is to walk on the earth, you need an earth suit, or a body... )so God decides to become HUMMAN, by being born into this world as a baby, live life as a HUMAN, and die, an innocent man. He did not lie, cheat, steal, FORNICATE, committ idolatry, He honored His human family, taught others how to do the same thing.
and wants to help us today... IT IS A BIG SACRIFICE. He's waiting for you to stop trying to figure him out in your own limited mental capacity..... cause He loves you.
BTW to "sacrifice" something means to GIVE something very important away to benefit someone else, not yourself. and Jesus, dying on a cross, when He could call a legion of angels or two because He knew you'd be on Yahoo kvetching about what He did, is indeed a sacrifice.

The thoughts about the alleged Jesus of Nazareth were written in the mid to overdue 2d century, and the writers did not do not ignore that the Jewish village of Nazareth had not existed in the early first century. because the biblical personality Jesus is in ordinary words a fictional composite of different persons he changed into for this reason not in any respect born everywhere. Older Jesus thoughts said him as Yeshua Notzri, yet many human beings did not comprehend what Notzri changed into meant to advise. some guessed that it meant Nazarene, and others guessed it meant he got here from Nazareth. the tale about his being born in Bethlehem turned right into a narrative that changed into extra later to teach him into being a Jew who changed into supposedly descended from King David.

Well first off, He didnt die to become God, He was God before He came here and came here in the flesh of a man. The sacrifice was His innocent blood shed for the attonement of sins.

John 1:1, 14

For Jesus, it was sacrificing a $500 million dollar lottery ticket...just to buy you back from the pits of hell.

He could have called 10000 angels to het him down from that cross.

He stayed...for you.

You poor little man...because of the way you live and are you merit the death penalty. The Gift is He died in your place so you wouldn't have to. When you accept His Gift you are given His Eternal Life. It's an incredible deal...not puny human life, but divine supernatural life. But being the worm that you are you'll probably never see it.

Jesus was already God and already infinite in power before He died, that is was makes the sacrafice so great, He let us kill Him to save us.

I'll give you an '8' for a good question and a good comparison--I had to subtract 2 points for your inability to spell 'sacrifice'. I believe that you're right, though--he was simply a martyr for a cause! Who knew he would become the base of one of the world's largest religions?!
