why are some dads fun and some dads just dont do anything fun?

Some dads have alot more on their plate than being a dad. some dads have to work their butt off to support their kids and some dads have a lot of stress from the mothers/wives. Give the guy a break and let him know you love him and you WANT to spend time with him. There are enough people playing games with him, be straight. Meet him where he's at.

Well, there are times when a Dad can be fun and a time when he can be anything but! Sometimes it is something his child is doing that is upsetting him. Sometimes it is job, relationship and/or money issues. Being a father is a huge task. What is it you want the Dad to do that he is not?

I just read the two previous answers and I have to
agree, it depends on how they were raised, was their father
doing something with them etc. And then also some fathers might be still the old fashioned ones who left everything to the mother. Its sad, but Dad's sometimes can't get out of their skin, they are what they are and just appreciate them if they actually stick around and provide for you, and are not like some of those oh so many deadbeats who just leave.

because dads are people and some people are 'fun' and some aren't. everyone has their good points and bad, fun dads can be great toys but not the most responsible (not sayin all fun guys are irresponsible its just an example), serious dads can be great at business and other things and so there is lots to be learned from them...look for the good.

Part of it has do to with personality. Maybe the father was raised to act like a old fart. ANd some has to do with age, a lot of people wait much longer these days before they start a family (ex. Brad Pitt... what is he 40??? barely having a first child?) SO by the time this kid is 10, Brad will be fifty? Or when the kid is in his prime teenage years and wants to go skateboarding, Brad will be hitting 60..... yikes!

Some dads had a lot of fun growing up and were taught how to share fun with others. Some dads, unfortunately, weren't taught how to share very well.

some dad are too macho or too cool to be fun and silly with there kids, some dads see that as a sign of weakness or then u have the dads that want more time for themselves and put thier interest before those of there children.........i work all day, hardly ever see my kids but when i do i become thier bestfriend, thier coach, and thier teacher. theres nothing like coming home to faces that look like yours smiling and happy to see u and apperciate and love everything u do for them.

Because everyone is different. Most people do what they think is fun, but just because they enjoy it doesn't mean their kids do (or anyone else for that matter). Sadly, there are also people who don't see any point in having fun and enjoying life. It just depends on the person.

man, not all dads have the same n.o of children to take care of, not all dads have the same money status, some work extra time and some are satisfied with the normal work, it depends on so many thing, before you judge on your dad, see what is he doing to make you live, if he is not fun for sure he has many responsibilities and all of the time he is thinking of them
