You know bigger people are funner to be around because they are not constantly obsessed with their appearance. Why are people so mean to them?

I'm not sure if this is really a question or a vent.

If it's a question, people tend to be mean to anyone who is different or physically unattractive. While it shouldn't be that way, the reasons people act that way may be linked to some of mans most basic animal instincts. Many animals in the animal kingdom will kill their young if they believe something is wrong with it. In some parts of the world, people do this as well.

That probably isn't the answer you want, but if you really wanted to know why, there you go.

I think its because they have issues themselves, and they feel better when dowing a person who isnt just as small as they are. Its sad, because I have been on both sides, thin and now thick. It all started when i was in an accident, got hurt really bad and now my back isnt good nor my hips ect. So I just do what I can, I eat healthy foods, just getting exercise is the hard part, so I walk a little. Might not be much but its something.

What we do not know, we fear.
What we fear, we destroy.
Too bad some people are never shown,
that we all come in different colors,
sizes, races, shapes, etc.
However dear, no one is jolly, just
because they're fat. The happiness you
see in some, comes from a loving upbringing,
or a spiritual being, concerned not,
with the bindings of the flesh.
Although I do concur, that some have gone
far beyond the appearance, and do
love themselves, making them better people.

I am not mean but I can tell you this. When someone is harassing others, or abusing others, snarks, physical, controlling, ect. That is an obvious sign that they are emotionally damaged because they've been hurt too. Whether heart broken, deceived, abused, whatever. They're bitter. I actually like bigger people they seem to be sweet. But then again everyone is their own person.

It is mean! And with an overactive thyroid there is not much you can do about it. I hate with super skinny girls act like it would be the end of the world if they gained a few pounds. Weight does not make a person!

i know plenty of "big" people who ARE constantly obsessed about their appearance, but the difference is that they think that they can't do anything about it, but they really can and that is where the loss of respect goes.

I personally have no respect for someone who sits around whining about how fat they are when they do not take the initiative to go and do something about it! You have no right to complain unless you've tried and failed.

Because they're just plain mean, immature even if they are "adults",most likely insecure with themselves, and must not have anything better to do. Because if you're so important, have so many friends, and have so little time. Why waste your time being MEAN to me?....hmmm...wouldn't you have something better to do. and if... not it SUCKS to be YOU.

Enjoy your life and think about all the people that do love you for who you are and what you stand for. I had to learn the same thing...before I lost 50lbs. And now when I see all those "mean" people I say hello and goodbye...Don't be mean. Just hello and GOODBYE.

Because we just are. Stop crying you big baby.

Oh yeah, and thin people aren't constantly obsessed with our appearance either. We just happen to care a little more about our health and well being.

You know, English is my third language but you sound distressed

...and fat.

You sound fat.

Here's the thing:
My friend used to be 230 lbs but then he lost all that weight through diet, exercise, and a brief stint as a Trans-Atlantic drug mule. Anyways, now he looks great and only feels tremendous.

Fat story slim, have you ever considered not being fat?

Hanging with bigger people is funner because they like to make fun of themselves and not care. You know why people are like that? Because they have trashy parents. Atleast they aren't like those anorexic asssess out there.
