I heard that you dont celebrate birthdays or holidays. No disrespect, but I'm just wondering why that is. Whats the logic and scriptural reason for that?

Most so-called holidays are associated with paganism and false worship. Some are associated with nationalism. Birthday celebrations are associated with both paganism and egotism. Jehovah's Witnesses believe in pure worship.

Two birthdays in the Bible, a man was hung to death in the old testament, John the baptist got his head cut off in the new testament.

If you check out holidays, you will find that they are pagan, that is the reason.

to "chkibo2000" I can think of a President of the U.S.A. that said the Pledge of Allegiance and saluted the flag and he resigned office because of wrong doing and the deliberate act of deviating from the truth.

So the saluting of the flag & Pledge of Allegiance does not make a person good, it's obeying God's rules that does this.

Why do you think, the prisons are full of so-called Christians, why is it that so-called Christians are the ones that "burn, spit, step on the "flag" and show disrespect not only to the flag but to the country they live in?

Is it because of people that could care less about
God's rules that are layed out in the Bible,

As I understand it:

Celebrating anything about yourself is a display of Pride, so birthdays are out.

Christmas as it is commonly practiced is deemed to be full of pagan and secular symbols, so that's out.

Secular holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day are tied to the government(s) of man, so those are out too. JWs work very hard so separate themselves from the rest of society. Many people (but not all) consider them to be a cult.

Yes, there is a scriptural reason in the Bible where Jehovah Witnesses believe in. Jesus mentioned that he is no part of the world.
If you want to know more your can visit the website of Jehovah Witnesses at www.watchtower.org and ask someone visit you for further explanation.

I'm not a JW, but the best answer I can come up with is that it may seem like you're elevating something higher like yourself on your birthday, or focusing more on something else like a holiday, rather than on God. They don't say the Pledge of Allegiance either.

JWs teach the teachings of man and not of God. They have the Watchtower as their authority and NOT the Bible. They constantly change what the believe and it is difficult to keep up with what they believe as it is changed so often.
None of the things they do is scriptural. They try to earn their way into heaven by "working for God" and knocking on doors!

They also refuse to say The Pledge of Allegiance or serve in the military. Funny, they do love to use their right to freedom of religion but refuse to help defend it.
