my doggie is 10 yrs old and has recently started sleeping with the tip of her tongue out, so cute, but was wondering the why of this...age ?

Part of it is age. Her teeth splay out more and more the older she gets, so they don't hold her tongue in as well. Also, when she is totally relaxed, the tongue comes forward a small amount. Without the teeth in position to hold it back, it sticks out a bit. It's not anything that will hurt her at all.

They are relaxed.It is just like when we sleep we tend to end up catching ourselves with our mouths open-we are relaxed too.
My aussies do that all the time,it is cute to watch-looks like they are sticking out their tongues at me..lol

some have my friends have puppies and they do that. i m pretty shor its normal
