I found money several times in my life and actually argued with a guy that I saw drop the money that it was his. He being a person with too much pride would not admitt to himself that he would drop a 20 on the floor. He finally picked it up and kept it - I know I was doing the right thing to this day.
I also found 2 wallets on other occasions and the first response was " was all the
money and credit cards in it ". I said I do not know how much or what you had .
But in one case I found $350 and a drivers license went to the guys apartment and
He was so angry about it I thought he was accusing me of taking it - he was not to logical but after counting the money and other ID I said you are lucky I found it and not someone else. I still know I did the right thing . Never take anything that is not yours.
Integrity rules the day

it happened to me and my wife... we just left a store and found the wallet on the parking lot,, it had all the things a wallet had plus close to 2 thousands dollars, this wallet belonged to a university student.. the next day we called the owner and he came to pick it up. he was grateful. no.. we didn't accept a reward, instead..we made a new friend.
and check this out... 2 years later, I lost my wallet.. it had all my documents and some money.... i was surprised that on that same day i received a call from a couple and said they found my wallet, i too wanted to give them a reward but instead we are good friends to this day.

I wouldn't give it to the cops I'll look for an ID and call the owner of the wallet and then give it back to him. Of course I wouldn't take the money.

I would try to return it to the user and hope not ask for a reward. If there was no owner I would just take the money and toss the wallet, but it has to have absolutely no id in it.

i would turn it in. for one its the right thing to do. second put yourself in the person who lost it shoes. and third i wouldent be able 2 deal with knowing i have other people money and the fact that maybe they really needed it. hey maybe you'd get a reward anyways...whenever i find $ i turn it in or give it to the proper athority. one time i was at niagra falls and me and my mom found someones wallet with i think $267 in it plus credit cards and all. well we turned it in to hotel employyes and the next morning we came down and found out those people just checked out before we came down and they paid for our room for the night....by the way the room cost more than what was in the wallet about $350 it was

Nope. I return it like I found it.
And even if you think the cops are going to take it before finding the rightful owner, that's no reason for YOU to do the wrong thing.
You can't make them do the right thing but you CAN control how you live your life and the decisions you make.

If your an honest person which obviously your not you would try to find the rightful owner. how would you like it if you lost your wallet full of money and someone had the same attitude that you do

I would NEVER take the money. My husband lost his wallet with $400 in it. When we received his wallet back in the mail, the money was gone (of course). I would NEVER want anybody (especiall someone with a family) to feel that loss! It's horrible.

I might. Having lost my wallet before I would have been fine with someone taking the money just so I got my ID,pictures, etc. back.

No, I would not take the money no matter how big or small it is. I believe that doing a good deed is being rewarded and that no money could ever replace it.
