I'm looking for something that's comfortable, something I can get to work and back without being in this cramped little thing. I want good fuel economy, since my work is 15 miles away from home. Also, I want to be able to get around the cities comfortably. Nothing like a Benz, or anything like that. It can be up to V6 and no lower than 4 Cylinders. I'm thinking something like a Volvo, Audi, Subaru, Chrysler, BMW or something like that. 4 door sedan, moderate trunk space, not too small, but I don't want a huge thing (my driveway is small) cluttring up my garage.

Also, I want a safe car, one with either AWD, or the ability to switch to 4WD

I'm a Chevy girl, so I'd go with either a Cobalt or a Malibu. Although I have to say the new Saturns look pretty nice.

The PBS car show gave this year's award for best sedan to the Hyundai Sonata .. surprisingly .. I have been shopping for a car also and the salesman at the local Ford Dealer said he would get the Hyundai since Car and Driver rated it the best put together quality automobile out today .. lol .. I don't know if he's still employed there but at last I found an honest car salesman. I don't know if they have it in AWD .. if I wanted to go that direction I'd take a look at the Subaru .. they've been doing the AWD 4x4 thing for more years than any other company other than Jeep ..

Your AWD sedan options are limited to high performance(unreliable) Mitsushiti's, oops, Mitsubishi's, Subaru's, and a few others.

It sounds like you are looking for something like a Camry or one of it's competitors. As a Mazda fanatic, I'd highly recommend the Mazda6 as they are great cars for the price. However, if driving feel/enjoyment isn't a big concern(it is for Mazda), then I'd definately recommend the Camry.

Just to skim the surface real quick: VERY quiet, large interior and trunk, very reliable, probably the least to maintain in your category(I'm a technician), and they're built to last. I wouldn't recommend anything other than a Mazda, but I believe you will be very satisfied with an 04+ Camry. Toyota did a good job on these cars.

I'm not that sure if you can find a car that gets good gas mileage and is an AWD, but a good mid sized car is a Mercury Mystique, becuase they have a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder. If you are intereested I'm selling mine right now becuase I need a truck for my new job. Also the Mercury Mystique don't cost much to fix like a Toyota.

Saab 9-3, good mileage, 4 door sedan, and fast too. Has a top rating in crash tests. It is also a car you don't see everyday like some of the other mentioned brands.

Audi A6 is my favorite. Volvo and BMW are also great choices. If you can afford any of these and I'm assuming that you can, go for it. Test drive them all and see what you like. If you are considering anything cheaper, a Pontiac Grand Prix is a spacious, sporty sedan that I recommend.

Well the Honda Accord sedan is one of the safest cars on the road right now and also gets good gas mileage, a toyota also will have excelent gass mileage. I think you might have luck with something along those lines.

If you're thinking economical and fuel efficient I would recommend a Honda Accord, they have competitive pricing and they look good also
