We think he is sick. Can we wait overnight to call the vet? Also, can anyone tell me what sickness he has?

He may be shivering from either discomfort or a fever. The discharge could be mucous from conjunctivitis- or doggy pink-eye. It's ok to wait until morning to see your vet, unless he is rubbing his eyes. He can cause scratches on his corneas causing painful and scarring ulcers. You can clean his eyes with warm water on cotton balls or a soft cloth periodically, but he should be seen tomorrow for proper antibiotic administration and exam

Call an emergency vet or go to a 24 hour vet's office. I would think this was serious and if it was my dog I'd rush her to the vet.

If your dog had bitten someone. Your dog could be rabid and the person that it bit could be rabid and dying by this time. But if your dog is well-immunized there's nothing to worry, its not rabies, just bring him to the vet it may be some acute illness. But if your dog is not immunized, you have find the person he bit so you would know what's happening. Warning: a rabid dog may need to have his head cut off for examination. A rabid dog is dying and the person he bit maybe dying too. anyways, just bring him to the vet. ;-)

Oh boy... How about this? Find the 24-hour vet number and give them a call. Describe it to them very carefully, and see if they think you should come in or not... That's the best thing to do.

Best of luck!

When a dog shivers it usually means their in pain.
I would take the dog to the vet ASAP.
I'm not sure what he has, but it doesn't sound good.

My poodle blend has tear staining and he or she has very gunky eyes from time to time. We switched her to handmade nutrition years in the past, and now that is a lot, a lot, a lot less, yet nevertheless from time to time comes and is going. it will be some thing similar, or like all different answerer reported, some kind of eye an infection. reliable success.
