Explain what you're feeling to him. If he doesn't pull his weight
financially or otherwise, you need to part ways. The sooner the
better. If it's your place, change the locks and get a roommate.
Sounds like he's a dead-beat. The longer you wait, the more
it will cost you!!

I know this may be difficult but unless the "roommate" is willing to evacuate, it may be you who needs to move. There are laws protecting renters who are "down on their luck." The question is, who signed the lease... and what were the terms of the lease? If you both signed then this could get ugly with small claims court etc. If your roommate was the only signer, then that can actually be to your advantage. If you are the only signer, then that could mean a world of grief for you. If you think the are going to be long-term problems in this arrangement, speak to your landlord immediately about the problem... If both parties are amenable, then either the landlord can look for new tenants which releases you from the lease, or he can help you take actions to start eviction proceedings. You really need to protect yourself when you enter into an arrangement such as this... know the person's employment stability and other habits before going down that road. Live and learn, I guess.

You probably cannot legally make him move, as he is living there by your permission (and agreement) even though he is now freeloading.
Do you mean there is no contract or lease on the place you are renting? If so ... move out and leave him with the rest of the bills. Anything in your name, like utilities, turn off. I know that is hassle, but better off moving than stuck with him.
Good luck!

Move, you moved in with him with out a contract, that was your first mistake. Talk to the landlord and if you can make the rent sign a contract and live there yourself. Through his stuff out in the street and change the locks. Look for another place is probably your best bet.

Well, say that if he does not pay in a week, his is out on the curb. If he is imposing, use a more imposing person (prefferably a guy, since some guys have problems.) He needs to pay! Tell him to get a job if he does not have one! Maybe he is having problems or something? Work on that...
P.S. Free the Monkeys!!! Mwahaha!!!
