When a call goes straight to voice mail, there are two possibilites, one, the phone is switched off, your number wouldn't show, two, he's on another call (if he hasn't got call waiting set up) Then your number wouldn't show either

One of the above answer is wrong in saying his phone is on just don't want answer. When someone's phone is on and he rejects the call, it at least have to ring once before it gets directed to voice mail, in other words the receiver has to see the call is coming then he can reject it.

So don't worry, just stop calling him now. Send him ONLY ONE text message saying, sorry to miss your call, give me a call back when you can. AND WAIT, NO MORE calling and text. IF he really cares about you, he'll call. Even if he saw your number come up 5 times, and he mentions it, pretend you don't know nothing about it, and just brushed off and move on to next topic.

If his phone is off he probably won't know you called five times. And if he does just tell him you had your phone in your pocket or purse and you didn't lock your keys so the button probably kept getting pushed to redial the last person you called. But only tell him that if he says anything. You don't want to seem like you sat around thinking that excuse up.
Good luck!

P.S. The internet can be a dangerous and scary place and you should not be putting your name out there. Be careful and protect yourself. There are some extremely twisted and creepy people on here.

if it rang and then went to voicemail then no it wasn't off but if it went straight there no rings then yes it was off, and no ur not obsessed i'm the same way if someone calls me i'll call them back and if there is no answer i'll keep callin a few more times until either they do answer or i realize they either have the phone off or aren't near it or can't answer it for some reason but usually they see that i called and eventually call back within a few hours g/l.

Katie....okay...you're not stalking him...you're just crazy about him and the newness of the relationship. If the phone is going straight to his voicemail then chances are...his phone is turned off and he's not going to know you called him anyways....
In the future...hit (star) *67 before you dial his number...it will block your number on his phone and show up as "unknown caller."

He's your boyfriend and you miss him and want to talk to him...I don't think that's obsessive...not to much. If the phone rings and it goes right to voice mail, then I believe he has it turned off. Question....Did you talk to him at all when he got there? I wouldn't worry about it to much...I don't think anything bad is happening. He will call you back...and tell you what a great time he's having.

even if he doesn't have the voice mail set up. the phone still registers 5 missed calls. and the history on the phone will let him know who it was. the phone could have been turned to silent mode if he was in a place where it would have been conspicuous.

don't worry about it too much. just don't bring it up. if he asks, then let him know that you were kinda concerned that you couldn't reach him.

I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN. My ex got his message 15 times because i thought he didn't get the previously sent messages. It can go straight to his voice-mail for many different reasons. If he's out of his service area it could go straight to his voice mail. If he's on his web browser it could also. I would just send him a text, that way he knows you called as soon as he turns his phone on or whatever it is.

Well, if it didnt ring and went straight to voicemail, he had his phone off. I think you will be safe :-) Dont worry, I dont think he would think you are obsessed anyway, just that you miss him.

Dont worry about it Katie....he will call you as soon as he's settled in...sometimes....reception on those dang cell phones is really bad especially in a brick home.

5 times is plenty of tries...If he asks . just tell him...get the voice mail set up so you will know when I called.

First find out if he was doing something he wasnt supposed to be doing because where was he when you tried to call him 5 times? Secondly after you find that out tell him that you were worried simce he just left you a message you expected him to pick up the phone but when he didnt you got a little paranoid.
