The best kind - candy, pop, junk food, cookies, sweets, anything that puts weight on and does absolutely nothing else for you. Mmmmm - No nutritional value whatsoever, but so yummy!

There's really no such thing as "empty calories", but usually what people mean is that certain foods have no nutritional value and provide your body with nothing BUT calories.

Particularly foods that have a lot of calories but little else, such as junk food, refined sugar, soft drinks (the worst offenders) and processed foods.

"empty calories" are calories where you receive NO significant nutritional value. Things like potato chips and candy bars tend to be "empty calorie" foods, unlike lean cuts of meat, fruit, vegetables, and other things that don't taste good, but are good for you.
