Anyone ever tried the Youn Wha Ryu style of Martial Arts? The founder of it is Grandmaster Man Hee Han, and I was just wondering because I heard it was pretty good.

The best way to be a great martial artist is to dedicate your mind, body, and soul wholeheartedly. No matter what the art, you will become better with practice. This Grand Master is good because of his devotion to his art over the years. Who is the better Martial Artist - One who trains one hour a day three days a week or one who trains three hours a day five days a week? I think anyone who tells you you can be as good as a twenty year veteran in one year or less is clearly trying to sell you their program for a profit.

I read their website and it made no sense at all. It is hard to verfiy the lineage. It is probably a tae kwon do sort of art in the beginning, then turns into a hapkido like art as yoo progress. My view is that if you want to take hapkido, take hapkido. You do not need a questionable lineage or stories built up from myths and legends. The individual school may be a great school, even if there are suspect things about the art.

I just read their website and it looks pretty silly to me:

I couldn't possibly take that seriously.
