The Bible doesnt have many changes, The Bible is STILL translated off the early texts which are still available. It has contradictions to science only because science always changes, science contradicts itself most of the time. I am a Christian because whether or not YOU know anything about it, which you obviously dont, Jesus STILL lived and died for my sins. That never changed and never will.

I sense the spirt of the Da Vinci Code in this one. So fallow me here. The old testiment we have is a translation of the Greek Septuagent(LXX) which was done in first century BC translating the origional Hebrew text(or in some cases the oldest coppy they could get) into greek. From that text, it is being translated into every other language, with only minor gramatical changes to make it esier to read (removing ann the thine's and thou's and replacing them youth you and your's). As for the new testiment, the books were origionally written in greek from the years 40-70 AD. The books were collected and put with the septuagent and composed the Christian Bible. The only changes that have been made since then have been the language and grammer, that's it. As for the Gnostic Gosples and the Nag-Harami Text, those were writted at nearest 400 years after the wnd of the new testiment, or provide such inconsistancies or counter christ ideas that they have been left as light reading instead of gosple(as in according to the Gosple of Thomas, the only way for a woman to get to heaven is for her to become a man, sounds more morman than christian no?)

I agree, well kinda.
Everyone has their right to believe what they want. But the Bible is very illogical.

Its why Im not a Christian anymore. Once I started becoming logical I became very confused at the stories, Noah and the Ark. Moses.... And all that stuff.

The beliefs were wacky and just e verything!!!

I found Paganism and was shown, felt it, saw it, first hand or else I wouldnt be Pagan today.

I just dont get why theres so many Christians. Are we human beings THAT illogical and follow blindly a faith without question to its stories??
Ya it was "Gods will" Ya it was a "Miricle"
But what really got me was the "Noahs Ark" Story.

All those animals on one ark together for 40 days and 40 nights.
Lions and Zebras... does anyone realize that lions eat zebras????
How did Noah russle up all the animals without being killed himself??? And in that amount of time???? Animals dont just listen to you unless trained.

*sigh* oh well...

Mere statement without any factual support....

There is no question over the wording of 98.5 percent of the Bible. Despite the centuries of copying the OT/NT Biblical manuscripts, only 1.5% contain any questions on content/wording (BTW: the NT is 99.5% accurate to original wording). No ancient writings of the entire world approach the accuracy of the Biblical documents.

That 1.5 percent does not affect any doctrinal beliefs. The vast majority of those variants consist mainly in variations of wording and spelling.

People can reject the Bible if they want, but they should at least have the intellectually honesty to admit that it is a very reliable document.

As far as "contradictions", I've yet to see one that does not have a logical explanation. Most "contradiction lists" are simply pathetic attempts to discredit the Bible.

I have yet to see any so called "contradiction" that really exist. They are usually a case where the skeptic did not understand and then extrapolates a bunch of assumptions based on wrong information. Good science doe not contradict the bible.

It's a God thing...

Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

By the way, do you mean that the Bible "has" many changes? Also, there are no contradictions in the Bible to scientific facts, only to scientific theories.

I believe with all my heart, mind, and strength that Jesus is Lord and that He did die for me.
The Bible is not fairy tales:

The following is taken from The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell:
"1B.Cornelius Tacitus
According to Habermas, "Cornelius Tacitus (c. A.D. 55-120) was a Romans historian who lived through the reigns of over a half dozen Roman evperors. He has been called the 'greatest historian' of ancient Rome, an individual generally acknowledged amoung scholars for his moral 'integrity and essential goodness.'" (Habermas, VHCELJ, 87) Tacitus's most acclaimed works are the Annals and the Histories. "The Annals cover the period from Augustus's death in A.D. 14 to that of Nero in A.D. 68, while the Histories of Domitian in A.D. 96." (Habermas, VHCELJ, 87)
Writing of the reign of Nerom, Tacitus alludes to the death of Christ and to the existence of Christians at Rome. His misspelling of Christ-"Christus"- was a common error made by pagan writers. Says Tacitus:
But not all the relief that could come from man, not all the bounties that the prince could bestow, nor all the atonements which could be presented to the gods, availed to relieve Nero from the infamy of being believed to have ordered the conflagration, the fire of Rome. Hence to suppress the rumor, he falsely charged with the guilt, and punished with the most exquisite tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated from their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time, broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also. (Annals XV, 44)"

"No serious scholar has ventured to postulate the non-historicity of Jesus." -Otto Betz

All serious religions are based on books and stories that are hundreds or thousands of years old. If anyone thinks our knowledge of existence hasn't changed in that time, they are fools.

Christians exist because their believe in the inherent goodness of man, and they love the sacrifice of the living God, who gave his son to absolve the sins of all men.

There are no religions that are not illogical to people who don't believe. In this country, we acknowledge and rejoice in our different faiths. Perhaps in your country, those who don't follow the accepted ideology are murdered.

Why do you care what others believe? Don't put all your faith in science. Scientific facts seems to change every 10 or 20 years.

Newton and his ilk were blissfully ignorant of atoms and quantum mechanics. That didn't make them fools.

rather than all the debate and stuff, i can offer a pretty simple answer: persecution often causes growth. think about how many people within the usa complained about the usa before 9/11, but then afterwards every single car had a flag bumpersticker, etc.... same with christianity, people have hated christians and persecuted them for as people have followed jesus, and it kinda leaves one to wonder, why are people so threatened by it? i mean, there are tons of wrong theories out there, but for some reason they are NOT getting persecuted but christianity IS....so i guess my answer is that so many thousands of people have given up their lives because of their strong belief in it, and that probably draws more curious onlookers, who become christians in their search to find out what was so good that you would die for it.

Because they have not found the true God yet.

Don't worry They will.

At some point the idea of an unconditionally loving God with endless conditions starts to look a bit odd.

They then start to think about it and realize that God can't possibly be the judgmental a-- they have been lead to believe He was.

It happened to me. Took me 50 years but I finally figured it out.
