How would one tactfully correct the spelling and grammar of a Yahoo Groups list moderator? This is a serious issue because the person in question is taking responsibility for helping others with her groups but to some might be viewed as less intelligent because she makes a lot of mistakes. I am not terrific with spelling or grammar myself....and I don't want to make her feel put down or belittled.

The best thing is to be frank and let her face the music.... being a true fren shud do that.

Her spelling and grammar were obvious when she was picked, so Yahoo must not mind. Maybe they think other people spell and write that way so it will seem more comfortable for them to have a mod who also does that.

There are tools for spelling and grammar.

"Check Spelling" and if that doesn't work Microsoft Word.

Online dictionary: OneLook.com

Your choice is very simple, give her the tools and encouragement to use them or find another group.

Try the old, "Excuse me, dear, didn't you mean ......" That's one way.
