If you met a person who you really liked and knew in 2 days was going to have to go back to the other side of the country and you couldn't be together for 2 and 1/2 years, what would you do? I'm using my hard earned points for this question, so make your answers good ones!!

If you just want a physical short term relationship then yes but if you are looking for something more then no! Good Luck

Well, first of all you have only known the person for 2 days so you don't know that much about them. You only know what you have seen in the last two days. It is like you experienced a whirl wind romance with only the good stuff shining through. You can start something with that person if you want, but I would leave the window open for other people you are interested in also because alot can happen in two and a half months, let alone two and a half years and you don't have any history or have had a chance to build anything solid, yet to fall back on during that absence so it can be hard to make it work. It is hard enough to make it work if you do have that history on your side. I know. I have been in a long distance relationship and it is tough. I think you should just think of these points, but then do what you want because only you know what is best for you, just make sure you are not giving up anything you want in life just to wait around for someone that may or may not be there after the 2 and a half years is up. Good Luck.

i wouldn't, simply because things happen! you might meet someone else in those 2 and half years or he might. I mean just don't look for anyone and if u know that it is meant to be just ride out those 2 and a half years as lonely as possible. Just make sure that the other person is on the same page so that you don't waste that time!. and a big factor would be how long did u guys know each other before he decided to part?

why is he leaving?

i mean i dunno i would never have a long distance relationship specially for over 2 years!

best of luck!

That depends...see if I knew I would only get to be with him for two days and never hear from him again I wouldn't because it would only cause pain. However, if we kept in touch and stuff then I would because you never know...you could still be talking to him 2 1/2 years later and then get together or something...

If you two really like eachother and can trut eachother than you could try for the long distance thing or you could have the most incredible 2 days of your life with him and go from there it is your call really. Follow your heart and do what you want to do you only live once you know.

i started a relationship knowing that she was going to leave to San Francisco (i live in Los Angeles) 2 months before. a year later we are still going out but its been really hard. i wouldnt suggest dating someone across the world. that sounds kinda insane. if you do decide good luck though.

I would, but I would make it clear that its just a 2 day thing and not a long term relationship.

Personally I wouldn't get involved with someone i knew was leaving. I wouldn't want to put myself through the hurt.

Go for it.....
If you don't you'll always wonder "What if...."

And if the two of you hit it off as well as you think you will there is always IM, email, snail mail and long distance calls to bridge the gap when you can't be together.

Good luck!
