Would this be a fire hazard. No smart remarks please-I need good advice-I have small kids and don't want to endanger them.

yea, no problems, the evaporator coils are on the back. not on the bottom. my dad and grandmothe both have theirs like that and there is no hazard.

The floor poses no hazard,use no extension cords and make sure the circuit your plugging into can handle the load. I would suggest putting them on seperate circuits.

it would be a fire hazard! don't do it! think about your kids..... just look for a place where there's no carpet. and besides those appliances are being put in a kitchen wherein carpet is not advisable to use. good luck!
