DEFINITELY TAPE WORMS. Tape worms are carried by fleas. A flea bites the animal, the animal bites at the flea, often eating the flea and the cycle begins.
Fleas must be controlled and the kittens are going to have to be de-wormed very soon or they could very well die. It is a very slow agonizing death, they literally are eaten alive and bleed to death inside. I seriously doubt if all they have is tape worms... hookworms, round worms (that can be as long as 8 inches,) have been known to puncture the intestines and lungs...
I have had cats dumped off that were so full of these worms that they come out of the cat writhing in this huge wad... after being treated by wormers. Tape worms require a very different kind of medicine; round worms are easy to get rid of , hookworms and whip worms need STRONGID liquid, you can get all the medicines you need from a well stocked FARM or FEED store, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!!!!!
NEMEX is a very good one to rid all the worms except tape worms, that takes another kind of wormer, they are not all that expensive... Do it SOON!!

Could be a TAPE WORM. Tape worms can be several feet long and are flat, like tape.
Tape Worm Facts
Dogs and cats can be infested with two types of tape worms. Fleas carry the most common type, and rodents carry the less common type. Pets become infected with tapeworms after ingesting either fleas or rodents. Tape worm segments are often visible on the surface of your pet?s stool. They usually appear as short (1/2-3/4?), flat, white particles, that when first passed are mobile; or they may be passed still connected in a long, flat string. Dry segments may stick to your pet?s hair, and look similar to a grain of rice. Until recently, the only effective wormer has required a prescription. However, a drug called Praziquantel is now available without a prescription, and is 100% effective in deworming your pet of both types of tapeworms. To prevent future infestations of tapeworms be sure to follow a preventative flea control program.
PINWORMS are small, usually white and shaped more like an earthworm.

Its tape worm, very common. Keep in mind, though tape worms are long and flat inside the animal, they are passed through the feces in small rice shaped and STILL ALIVE pieces.
Just take the cat to the vet and get a dewormer. Its not very expensive and it will take care of the problem, and yes humans CAN get it.
Also, it might be a good idea to get the kitty on an anti-parasite med, a flee medication. Don't get an over the counter one because they can easily hurt the animal. Ask the vet which would be best for you.
I say you should do this(the flee meds) because tape worm comes from flees. Try and keep your house flee free as well to stop YOU from getting them.

This is tape worm. You should be able to buy liquid or pill wormers from a pet store or your vet can give them drontil. Round worms are the long ones.
Pets usually get tape worms from fleas.

Not long ago, I noticed whitish squigly things coming out of my kitten's butt. They were about the length of a grain of rice. They squirm around and when they dry up, look like grains of semi-brown rice. They were TAPEWORM segments. The tapeworm inside the cats' intestine "sheds" these segments which are filled with tapeworm eggs. When the segment dries, the eggs are released on to the cat's (or dog) fur. Flea larvae eat them and the tapeworm egg hatches within the flea. Cats lick themselves and sometimes swallow fleas infected with the tapeworm larvae. Tha'ts how cats (and dogs) get tapeworm. Fleas and Tapeworm go together. Observe if the squigly things coming out of your kitten's butt looks like grains of rice. Usually, these segments come out when the cat is asleep. If it is tapeworm, you can go to PETSMART and buy a bottle of "Praziquantel Tape Worm Tabs" for Cats and Kittens. There are three tablets inside; cost is $25.00 a bottle. Much cheaper than when you buy the Vet variety which is $18.00 per pill! I asked my vet about it and he says that Praziquantel is just as good as the Beyer brand.
BUT, if your kitty has tapeworm, I suggest you solve the flea problem first (say, a week before you give tapeworm tabs), becuase if you don't, kitty will just re-infect her/himself.

Sounds like tape worms. You are actually seeing the reproductive organs of the worm. They are searching for a new host.

Yep, the old moving rice ones. Yecch! Sounds like tapeworm. Every one of my cats has had them. You used to have to go to the vet to treat tapeworm, but luckily, in just the past couple years, you can get tapeworm pills online. I always get my stuff at entirelypets.com. I find their prices better than some of the other online pet supply places. As far as I know they can't be transmitted to humans, but don't quote me on that, since I'm not a vet. Good luck! :)
