He's not an only dog, loved equally if not a little more, and he's chewed my summer shoes. He's rarely left without human companianship and I'm not his favorite parent tho he loves me. He's 3 years old and just started chewing lately. I work full time but "Daddy" is home when I am at work and vice versa.

Because he misses you when you're at work. Daddy is with him but he wants mummy!

You mention he's 3 years old but has only started chewing your belongings recently. What changes have occur? Do you work longer hours? Are you coming home feeling more tired/stressed? Is your husband with the dog all day? Or is the dog left to his own devices while your husband goes out for a while? The fact that the behaviour only changed means that something's happened leaving the dog to feel threatened while you're away and chewing your belongings (Knowing it;s not acceptable) Is a play for more attention from your part. Don't forget dogs are extremely sensitive to subtle changes in the household! And if they feel tensions ... They react accordingly.

You should always discourage bad behaviour while rewarding good behaviour. Your dog wants something where he can find your scent. How about an old T Shirt? Something you would discard quite happily. Give him that when you go and let him keep it! Make a point of keeping shoes/othr clothes tidied and in fact keep your bedroom door locked! Your dog needs to learn that access to your bedroom is a priviledge! Only To earn for good behaviour only! So when you come home, ignore him! Should he jump at you feeling excited to have you back, just push him away, say 'no' and ignore him for 15 minutes. When he does sit call out to him, praise him then open your bedroom door and give him a cuddle there. Once you see him sniffisng at your belongings ... Say a firm 'No' and put him out! Repeat the exercise as often as it takes and your dog will soon realise that he's better off behaving in a manner acceptable to you. He will get to grip with the fact that you give him attention when he deserves it! Not when he wants it.

Best wishes

This can be a sign of frustration. Your dog could be frustrated because he believes that he is the leader and you are not acknowledging his leadership.
