I had a cactus needle in my finger for a while now, maybe a few weeks or so, it's so small, I thought it would get infected and come out by itself......what else can I do now?

Soak your finger in warm/hot water. This will soften up the skin and help with the removal. Use a tweezer and/or a small sewing needle (make sure both are clean!) to remove the cactus needle.

My mom used to use something she called "drawing salve" on stuff like this, but I don't honestly know what that stuff was. I know she got it at the store, but for all I know, they don't make it anymore.

Try to have it removed. The same happened to me only it was a thorn. I couldn't tell if anything was inside as it was cut also and thought it was just a cut . I washed it- left it. Over a few weeks it started to swell, I went to the hospital and they said the thorn was inside and infected the skin as the thorn was dirty. Just as well I went early enough , ended up with my whole finger in bandage.

you can buy a drawing salve at any drug store or use mesalt a hypertonic dressing to draw it out. it will either fester and get infected and come out or your body will absorb it,. i know i had a bamboo splinter for two years till it finally came out!

Get a pair of tweezers and pull it out. If you can't get it out, pop by a walk in clinic.

Cover it with tape. Most anything will fester out in time but it must be covered. Use first aide tape.
