it's not the way we would like it to be but there are a lot of dogs that do it. there is a product call frobid that works quite well you can find it a pet-co ,pets mart and maybe at your vets office. it easy to use just sprinkle the packet on the dogs food something in the stuffs turns the dog off. i guess it make it taste bad but what could be worse that dog poop right the vomiting could very well be because of the stool eating. take him to the vet his stomach may have some kind of bacterial infection

I don't know how anything like that could be considered normal, but almost all of them do it at one time or another. Unless he/she is acting peculiar in other ways, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But bring it up to the vet the next time you go.

It happens more than any of us want to think! Coprophagy (pronounced kä - präf’ - je) comes from the Greek copro which means feces and phagy which means eat. And that is what it is –eating feces. Check out the link for more information and suggestions on how to prevent this

If your dog is a female, then yes it is normal!.........It is a way of protecting their young from predators....( even if they haven't had a litter).......by taking the s*** away ( eating it is a way of removing it).....a predator does not know there are pups in the area. My dog only ate her's in the winter (poop sicles)........a vet explained this to me.

Beagles are the only dogs reported to eat their own faeces normally. If you have any other breed go to the vet.

My dog used to but then I quit feeding him popcorn. I think he didn't digest it very well, so when he sniff his droppings he smelled the popcorn and thought he was getting a treat.

Yes. They can smell unidgested material in their(other animals)
feces and vomit. It makes them hungry, I guess. I am still trying to get my dog not to eat kitty litter.

It's called Pica and many dogs do it. There are supplements that you can buy that will help them to stop.
