just a few examples of members of this forum (i won't name names, it's just to show my point of view)
person A says two things
1) those are not real christians, they are fake christians who just give us a bad name, real christians preach only love.
2) why do muslims kill in the name of religion, it's obviously a bad religion.
person B says:
1)that's just an ignorant atheist, most of us are for sure not that way
2)why are all christians so ignorant to take the whole bible literally
I mean: why is a bad member of "our" group always just a bad example and a sort of fake-member of our group, and at the same time a bad member of "their" group an example of how bad the entire other group is?? How does that work in a human mind?

Think about it Mark. That is exactly the way the human mind works.
Don't worry about it someday they will all start to see that acting this way does not any make sense. We are all here working on this same stuff. Just be happy you are starting to notice the insanity of this behavior pattern. Realize that this is debating about and dealing with peripheral issues. He said, she said, they said stuff. Thinking about these kinds of things is what keeps us confused and going in circles.
Look at the root cause of these types of behaviors; don’t try to rationalize them. They aren’t rational. Fear and insecurity cause these attitudes. These people respond the way they do because they are using a double standard. It is the only way they can deal with the conflict they are feeling. They are insecure because they are all too aware that their belief system is shaky and can’t stand up to a lot of scrutiny. Ones belief system is deeply tied to their vision of their reality. To be uncertain of it is to be uncertain of your own personal grip on reality. This is a scary position to be in.
Both sides are afraid of the scrutiny of the other because they are not that sure of their own beliefs. This amounts to thinking what if everything I think I know is wrong. The only real way out of this is to start respecting the opposing views and listening and trying to actually see what the other side is saying. Hardly anyone purposely argues for something they don’t believe in. If someone feels strongly about something it is because they see validity in it from their perspective. Usually the truth lies somewhere in the middle between to two opposing views. Seldom is one side completely right and the other completely wrong.
All we can do is try to change is the way we ourselves are responding. It is beyond our scope to effect significant change on others. Luckily this is all that is ask of us, that we learn to become this change we are hoping to see in the world. This is how we will eventually fix this problem you are speaking of. By changing ourselves, one of us at a time. Love and blessings Mark

Group means people having something in common, common interest or an objective.Groups work on this common objective.Normally the members who are not compatible with common objective will leave their own or they are forced out.If majority of members have different objectives group will crumble. In the long run the true group will only exist.Group philosophy or behaviour may be different from individual behaviour.

there's a lot version between UU communities to boot as interior of them. merely excellent rule of thumb should be to imagine in words of the liberal fringe of your community community and what their pastimes have a tendency in route of. My wager is that your emphasis on honour and how that impacts the way you stay your existence may be reliable. My impression is that you've both a competent experience of human being and of community interior of your custom, which could fairly charm once you're prepared to placed across it properly. not merely center beliefs (in accordance on your accepted communicate) yet significant values, the whys to boot because the whats. reckoning on the realm, there is pagans from different paths at your communicate and a number of them may opt to get right into a communicate about the transformations or some thing like that. with somewhat of success you gained't get a self-appointed mum or dad of all issues pagan attending.... %-) i comprehend you may take care of it, yet only a heads as a lot because the probability. hyperlink decrease than to the UU concepts. some communities use the language in them plenty, others somewhat contact on it, yet frequently the concepts should be prevalent territory. you should likely fill each and every of the time speaking about the techniques they are expressed (by using action to boot as words) on your custom.

I think that there are ignorant people in every religion. If you feel strongly about your beliefs, then anything that anybody says will not shake your belief system

Smoke and mirrors.
If I can keep your attention (and mine, to tell the truth) on the other guy, you won't see (and I won't have to take responsibility for) what I'm doing.
It's threatening to see that what angers me most about my neighbor is that he is behaving remarkably like what I most hate to see in myself.
