Hi, I am an Animal Care Specialist currently going to school for my Vets License, Im not sure how many ticks your dog has, but you want to get her to your vet as soon as possible, Ticks not only cause pain to your animal but can also spread diseases to your dog. In the meantime, the match works, so does alcohol, but u should NEVER pull a tick off a dog, 99.9% of the time the entire tick doesn't come out and half the body is left inside. Also, after you have your dog treated, you MUST TREAT YOUR HOME. Females ticks feed off the animal until they are full of blood, then fall off and find a place to lay eggs. You will have a mess inside if you don't call an exterminator. I went thru this with my dogs years ago and literally had ticks crawling up my walls. Take Care and get her to the VET ASAP.

Pull the ticks off with tweezers (make sure you get the tiny head of the tick too) and kill them. Then, Give her a bath in shampoo that kills fleas and ticks and apply some more K9 Advantix. Keep a check on your dog for the next week and if she seems sick call your veterinarian. Ticks can temporarily paralyze a dog; this is called tick paralysis. It happened to my dog and it scared me to death but she made a full recovery.

I agree with everyone else, take her to the vet. And also have the vet show you how to correctly put K9 Advantix on your dog so this won't happen again.

YOU NEED TO GET HER TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY! Take her to an emergency pet hospital. Even though you used that stuff on her, she can still get diseases from the ticks. Some of those medicines actually ATTRACT the fleas and ticks. Until you can get her to the vet: Keep her off of furniture. Put on long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, gloves, socks, and tennis shoes. Get a pair off tweezers and pull of as many as you can. Talk to her and pet her. Soothe her as best as you can. Once you get as many off as you can, reapply the medicine. Make sure you kill all of the ticks that you get off. Once again, take her to the vet. Also, keep her away from other animals. I hope this helps and she gets better! Good luck!

Oh my goodness! K9 advantix didn't work? Weird. Take her to the vet or groomer because you may need a medacine with a perscripsion!

Pull them off gently with tweezers. Make sure the leggs come out too. Also you can light a match..blow it out and stick the hot end to the bottem of the tick..causing it to release. Get them off now...gross.

go to your vet.
if you dont have time, tick collar helps though it wont really take the problem away.
there are also available treatment on pet shops either on liquid or powder mix which you will use to bathe your dog. let it set for 10 minutes maximum before you wash it with flowing water.
if you want it to be more effective, bathe again your dog after 10 minutes with the same solution and wait again for 10 minutes before you can wash your dog with water.

Take her to a vet and/or a groomer as soon as possible. She needs a special shampoo and dip to kill the ticks. She may need to go onto antibiotics.

I think you should take her to the emergency vet, especially since she has sores.
