TAKEN FROM LINK BELOW "The SEAL program is not open to women. However, women are an integral and vital part of the U.S. military’s force. Qualified and motivated women are encouraged to investigate the diver and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) fields in lieu of the Navy SEALs."
Yes women EOD personnel, I can say that if a woman fan excell at this then she could prove her place in the Special Warfare Unit in the years to come.
But the question is "why are only men eligible for navy seal training?" EOD trainning is still a buds based training program.

Women are not allowed directly on the front line for one. And because men are stronger and more mentally capable of handing the pain dished out during and after training. Also, The Navy Seals are the biggest and best of the bad asses in all Military services..imagine what would happen to a woman if she was caught and the enemy knew what she was...just imagine what would happen. And..tradition. Because of Tradition. I doubt it will be that way for long. There are other programs that are similar to Seals that women can be apart of. Cant imagine why though. You cant imagine the physical and mental shape one has to be in to survive those special programs.
When I was in the Navy, I must have know 40 guys that tried out for the Seals, I've known one that has made it through Seal training.

it is a psychological problem with the way men think.....it is the same reason that women are not allowed to be in combat training..it affects a man in a more negative way to see a woman dead(killed) in combat than it does another man. It also appears to hold true that, the military does not think a woman is strong enough mentally or physically to endure the tortures Navy Seals are put through when they go to war and are sent on secret missions.

Women can not be US Army Rangers either. Rangers & Seals can not be distracted trying to protect a female & that is their natural response. Everyone is in danger if they must worry about one instead of everyone of them. The physical differences allow for tortures that they can not do to men & their strength is not equal no matter how much we would like it to be. As a woman & a mother of a Ranger, I do not want anyone who can not carry him out of battle to be in battle with him.

I did not know that was so, but if so, then there is only one way to change the policy.

Fight it so hard, and have so many capable women try to break through, that eventually the Navy caves in to pressure and reality.

ddnla2000 has it right, also the nature of the S.E.A.L's missions preclude women on the teams. Sorry ladies, I think you would look rather nice on point for miles and miles, but thats just my opinion.

If a woman gets captured by the enemy what's the best way to torch-er her, that you can't do to a guy? We are not fighting people with our morals.
