NO, NO NO !!
Doing that will result in 1 of 2 things.. or possibly both.

1 - your creditors will object to the discharge of those charges because you clearly ran up the cards with no intention of paying it back. The court will agree and those debts will NOT be discharged.

2 - You will be charged with fraud and your bankruptcy dismissed AND you will still owe all that debt. The FBI handles bankrutpcy fraud cases, you don't want those guys knocking on your door !

Get the point ? It's FRAUD, and that is exactly what some of the new provisions of the BK law are there to prevent.

The advice of ANY BK lawyer worth his salt will tell you to STOP using credit cards, do NOT charge a thing in the 60-90 days prior to your bankruptcy filing. Just don't do it - cut up the plastic and forget about them !

Yes. Furthermore, in certain cases it can be beneficial. I know someone who did a max withdrawl on all his credit cards not 20 minutes before signing the papers to declare bankruptcy.

With the cash from that, he got through a messy divorce, purchased a motorcycle, paid off his truck (it was used, though), and put a down payment on an apartment.

In his case, it was highly beneficial. Now, his credit is almost considered "normal", after 6 years of smart purchasing, saving money, and not letting a crazy lady ruin his name.

TECHNICALLY NOW THEY ARE MAKING IT MUCH HARDER TO FILE CHAPTER 7... MY SISTER TRIED TO DO THAT BUT THEY HAD SOME THINGS TO ACTUALLY PAY OFF THEM AS WELL.. SO I WOULD SAY NO.. I WOULDNT DO THAT IT LOOKS A LITTLE BETTER ON YOUR RECORDS IF YOU DONT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD I HAVE GONE BANKRUPT BEFORE AND IT SUCKS BECAUSE YOUR CREDIT SUCKS FOR TEN YEARS... I STILL HAVE LIKE 5 TO 6 YEARS TO GO BEFORE MY CREDIT MAY BE GOOD ONCE AGAIN...

I think you will find that under the bankruptcy laws, you would be forbidden to include those kind of purchases that were made within a certain period previous to filing.
It is there to prevent this.

i would rethink that they do check your spending habits - you wont like what they tell you about what you may be planning. sorry but I have seen some good people really get hard doing stuff like this.
