Why not " Why do Puerto Ricans fly the Puerto Rican flag?"
Why not " Why do Why do Canadians fly Canandian flags?"
Why is it always us, Mexicans, that get picked?
WHY?

u guys dont know what you're talking about. america is a free country and you can wave whatever flag you want. by saying they're trying to take over the country by waving a FLAG FOR GOD'S SAKE is the DUMBEST thing i ever heard! Just because someone waves a flag from their country doesn't mean they're illegal you are all dumba$ses and no, its not just the Mexican flag, she listed a bunch of other nationalities that wave their flags in this country! Have any of you been to the Puerto Rican Day Parade?! Have any of you been to New York? In the summer at Rockefeller they have flags from all sorts of countries there! Maybe you dumbas$es should go burn them along with yourselves.

i dont care what country it is--it can be Iraq but you should never burn a flag from a different country. Its just total disrespect.
But you can wave a different country flag because its not disrespect unless its higher than the US's flag

oh yeah and Julie? She asked about flags, not about illegal criminals. SHe didn't ask if she wanted to go back to her country. She asked about flags so answer the damn question.

Most likely there are many reasons why this action gains attention.

I suspect one of the reasons because the cultural differences are clearer, such as the language differences and family tradition (i.e. Mexican’s tend to have more ties to their extended family units) in ways that are deemed important, however superficially differences may be, then other groups the public radar finds them. Added to these differences, and what makes this group threatening, is that this group is migration into almost every area in the united states. Almost every one sees this group because of the increase in migration to more norther areas.

This may also be because of the historical contexts of the American Mexican interaction. We have had a war against Mexico, which started trends of national polices towards Mexico. In world War two Mexico was accused leaning towards the side of the Axis because of the number of german spys in mexico (I should note that there was a strong influx of German immigrant to Mexico, as well as the united states, in the mid 1800s)Even though they did not join on the side of the Axis powers this caused suspicion the part of the united states. (mexico did declare war on germany even with the discovery of many spys.) [I am sorry i can't find Sources other then my history books which, clearly, you can not see!]

Of cores there is also the economic issues. The Mexicans are becoming an economic power with in the united states when they had not before. When ever there is economic change there will be at lest some attention.

I hope I was helpful in answering your question and didn’t just add to confusion.

In addition and off the main topic.
Puerto Ricans is part of the united states in a unique way, so flying there flag would be more like a Californian flying the Californian flag in Nevada then a Canadian flying there flag in Nevada.

You ask why we question why Mexicans fly the Mexican flag in the USA? Well, as many have posted here, they obviously don't like their country of Mexico, or else why would they leave it? If your own country is such a miserable place that you feel you have to flee from it, why would you act so patriotic to Mexico now that you are in the country of the USA, seeking your "American Dream?" Wouldn't it be a better idea to fly the American flag to show your appreciation for the generosity of the USA in allowing you to pursue that "American Dream?"

Mexicans who do this "in your face" act of flying their flag in their protests and marches are not the type of immigrants Americans want in the USA. They do it in an arrogant, "you can't do anything about it" way, like little kids irritating their older sibling, "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha ...... you can't get me!"

If they really want to get Americans on their side, they would stop this behaviour and even if they, themselves, aren't doing it, they would encourage their brothers and sisters and neighbours to knock it off. If you are a guest in somebody else's home, this is not the way to act!

The Mexican flag is an "in your face" symbol of an area which is currently a problem, that of illegal immigration. Puerto RIcans already have a claim to American citizenship, and Canadians aren't much o f a problem.

I hear the same thing about arabs, africans, and asians. Personally i think they mexicans want to make it all about them. But anyways, why do you want to fly a flag or the country you fled from? Why are you so proud to say your are from mexico, want to cause all kinds of riots in the US becuase you are a mexican and think you deserve more? Why cant the mexicans go back to their own country, start a revolution, and change things down there? Why do they need to come up here and destroy my country. You so proud to be a mexican but too ashamed of living in mexico? Dont make no sense...

I thought it was the Irish on St Patrick's day...

There is a difference between flying a flag as a celebration of your heritage and flying it (for example with the American flag upside down beneath it) as a symbol of attempt at conquest.

I have nothing against the first kind of flag flying.

Mexicans do not fly their flag as a show of patriotism. They wave it in the faces of American citizens saying "Si, se puede" (Yes, we can) but if they are so proud, if they can do so much...Why do they have to FLEE their country in droves? What exactly has Mexico EVER done to be so proud of? Mexican technology? We invented the motion picture, the automobile and put men on the moon. They invented Tequila & Tacos. Mexican Music? They have Santana, who is GREAT(A Goodwill Ambassador for the World). But the rest of Mexicos music, especially Mariachi...SUCKS!!!
Go back home! "NO, tu puedo!".

Puerto Rican's fly their flags in Puerto Rico.
Canadians fly the Canadian flag in Canada.
Mexicans fly the Mexican flag in the USA.
What's wrong with this picture?

sure other people do it but they don't make a big deal about it.
