Playing cards or Tarot cards?
I play cards a lot. hahahahhahaa

Back in the middle ages, when playing cards were first becoming popular, some people spent way too much time playing cards and not doing hard work. Instead of recognizing this as being addictive behaviour, the clergy figured that cards were brought by the devil to tempt people to sin. They said the same thing about Dungeons and Dragons in the late 1970's and early '80's and crystal meth in the '90's.

This is a left over superstition from a time when fortune tellers used decks of playing cards. Also, playing cards are associated with gambling, which has long been considered evil by modern Christianity.

I don't believe playing cards are evil, but I think some people think they are evil because some people play cards and gamble.

Because playing cards is often associated with gambling, which is considered 'evil'. Also, there are fortune tellers (or witches, back in the day).
Because you're depending on chance, you're defying the fact that God is omniscient (all-knowing), and therefore, it's evil. That's the root of it.

I would guess people say that playing card games is even when it's a poker game or any one having to do with gambling.

Yeah, I heard that as well, it's because cards are associated with gambling, and certain religions do not allow gambling because that can sometimes lead to greed and losing everything. That's why cards are evil.

In my opinion playing cards is not evil. Some people believe it is bad,because many people play for money.Sometimes you play and play for ambition which is not very good. Play but if your going to bet have a spending limit because its sometimes bad for your pocket.
