If it were not for the MOORS we would not have any technology that we so much enjoy today. Now all of a sudden I see on the his-story channel about what the greeks and romans did. That a bunch of garbage because I is scientifically proven they were not even around or heard from until they came on the scene and stole everything they ever knew.

Because they're malinformed or grossly misinformed. Any intelligent person that actually has a clue about Islam would not bash it. It's a decent, respectable religion. Ignore the ignorance if you can, I know it's hard sometimes.

First of all, while much knowledge came from the Moors, it's a stretch to say that we wouldn't have ANY technology if not for them. It's not true that ALL of our know-how derives from Moorish knowledge.

Second, while bashing Islam across the board isn't good, the truth is that there are a lot of bad things being done by certain Muslims out there.

Every day, we read of some young Muslim man who can't get a date (and who thus falls for the "72 virgins in paradise" story) blowing himself up along with a few dozen people.

To say nothing, of course, of the thousands and thousands of people who have been killed by Muslim terrorists over the years.

We also have to raise eyebrows at a religion which:

-- essentially treats women as subhumans,

-- which doesn't do nearly enough to rein in its radicals,

-- which threatens (and sometimes commits) violence and murder against those who "slander" it,

-- whose clerics in the Middle East routinely "bash" Jews, Christians, and basically anyone else who's not a Muslim -- often calling for their deaths and saying they're going to hell,

-- and which is prevalent in countries with horrible human-rights records.

For starters, the romans and egyptians lived and died long before there was a religion called Islam. So, they couldn't have stolen anything from you. And most of the technology we have today is notderived from anything the Moors did, although, they were wonderful artists and builders. And everyone is not bashing Islam, just those who don't want to learn about the religion, and the prophet Mohammed,

Basically, if you want to know about the truth, let's analyse. Islam is not a new religion, but carries and contains the same teachings which were brought to this world by the great messengers like Adam, Moses, Abraham & Jesus.

Truth has always been not invited by peace. People do like to bash this religion because of the misrepresentation of this religion, by a lot of sources as you see around.

Islam is a easy and simple religion. And as far as the quranic quotations used by some people on this board, they've taken the texts out of their context. And you can take any meaning of any text which is taken out of its context.

This noble religion of God has been misrepresented, maligned and misunderstood by people. The only thing i can say is that 'to judge a religion', go to its religious teachings, its sources..

The Quran and the Authentic Ahadiths (teachings of the Prophet, PBUH).

The Moors didn't do anything. The Moors are from Africa. The Arb poeple that were Muslim back in the old days did create alot of things, the Moors didn't create anything. Most technology has flowed from China, Japan and Europe.

Here is an example:

By: Rick Mathes founder of Mission Gate Prison Ministries in Chesterfield, Missouri,

Last month, I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their belief systems.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with video. After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked:

"Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?"
There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, "Non-believers!"

I responded, "So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can go to Heaven. Is that correct?"

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He sheepishly replied, "Yes."

I then stated, "Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering Protestants to do the same in order to go to Heaven. The Imam was speechless.

I continued, "I also have problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me. Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill me in order to go to Heaven or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to Heaven and He wants you to be with me?"

You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification' training seminar were not happy with Rick's way of dealing with the Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslim's beliefs.

This is why

Because they kill non-muslims in the name of their Allah according to the following verses of Qoran:
Read the Surah.
It is filled to the brim with them.

O Prophet (Muhammad)! Urge the believers to fight. If there are 20 steadfast persons amongst you, they will overcome 200, and if there be 100 steadfast persons they will overcome 1,000 of those who disbelieve, because they are people who do not understand.
Surah 8:65

Kill the mushrikun (pagens) wherever you find them, and capture them and beseige them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush.
Surah 9:5

Fight against those who belive not in Allah, nor in the last day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and his Messenger and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (Islam) among the people of Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah [tax] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Surah 9:29

Islam is a religion. People bash everything they don't understand. Whether it be Islam, Christianity, Jewish religion. People just bash everything and everybody. It's sad but people do it. Without knowing all the facts. There is good and bad in every religion and culture.

Islam is unpopular today because of the prominence of its radical members (Christianity is unpopular for the same reason). Blowing up buildings in the name of Allah is not good PR for your religion, regardless of what its members did 1300 years ago. Moderate Islamic folks are at the mercy of the news-making radicals.

Of course, I'm sure the same acts of terrorism could be making Islam even MORE popular in other parts of the world. It all depends on whose building it is, I suppose.
