my tv instantly blows the fuse when turned on. cant find any wires touching. any suggestions for an electronically challenged dude?

TK is right, dont try anything if you are "electronically" challenged, there is nothing you can do. You need meters, scopes, and other devices to diagnose and trace the problem. theres only about 5 things that will blow the fuse, however you shouldnt attempt to fix them if you are not experienced. take it to a local repair shop

That usually means somewhere in the power supply is defective. If you are electrically challenged, you should really not be touching it any further. Capacitors in TV can hold charge for few minutes and that means HV is still active. You could get shocked by 25K volts.... Which can either give you an awful shock, or in some cases kill you instantly.

I agree with last two answers, most folk who try to fix a Tv without experience are usually Intellectually challenged !

check the power lead for any nicks/cuts or crushing & try another thing in the power outlet
