Start by tying a ribbon on your finger. Everytime you either chew on a straw or have the desire to chew on a straw you need to do something totally opposite to break the habit. Say your going to walk around the block everytime you catch yourself doing it or your going to sprint or something. You should pick something that you hate to do....so that you make yourself stop doing it. Keep your mouth occupied with something else.....gum shall we say?

Is there a particular reason this is a problem for you? There are far worse habits that you could be doing orally. In any case, you do seem to rid yourself of this habit, so either of the two methods mentioned before (abstaining or substituting) should work.

ask yourself how important it is to you. and do you chew up the whole straw, or just the tip, while you're drinking?
