I keep seeing these commercials for Chaserz, a hangover pill you take before you start drinking that "eliminates hangovers". If you have used these, please let me know if they worked or not. If you haven't, well, do I really need to hear about your views on alcohol? No, lol.

Why is it that whenever there's an alcohol question, halton13316 feels it necessary to copy and paste his/her anti-drinking campaign? Talk about redundant, and ineffective. It just makes me want to drink more! hehehe

I was taught that it is best to avoid pills like that...sometimes they are not regulated as well and are scams to take your money. Besides, the only real cure for a hangover is to eat lots of the lime Jell-O packs fresh out of the microwave. Ha ha...just kidding. It really is best to avoid pills like that...they sound almost like diet pills which are just as bad! Don't take medicine unless you really need it for a legitimate reason. (The only cure really is time, but if your stomach hurts eat crackers and drink water slowly.)

Ok, so let me get this straight - it's 23:17 and you're hungover? Holy sheet - good going! For the cure - there's some proven medical methods but they're not strictly available to the common man. An IV drip loaded with saline, high oxygen mask and tons of anti-histamines. For the layman, if you're that fecked, a piriton, loads of water, electrolytes ("dioralyte" etc) and a Valium if you have access. In all honesty though, water and electrolytes work better in advance mate. Taking then after won't do a great deal except make you feel better the 'morn. Probably painkillers, a piriton, force down some water and electrolytes and get some rest in between clean, cool sheets and watch a Wes Anderson film to chill the emotions. Hope you had a goodie! :-) PS - hungover at nearly midnight the next night? Awesome! EDIT - ah me too! When I'm dying like that I find hoisting myself on my knees with my head buried in the cool side of the pillow helps a little. That sounds pretty gay but it does work a bit (you know, when it feels like you need to stick your head in a fridge?) The good news is you can give yourself a pat on the back for being able to withstand a mighty session that would kill a lesser man. My mantra is "can you beat me at chess? Ok, well what are your qualifications? Ok, well how about an arm wrestle? All right! How about a drinking competition?" I always win in the end. ;-) ...

When a person drinks, the liver goes into “overdrive” to remove toxic substances out of the body. This puts excessive stress on the liver, and with the constant consumption of alcohol overtime, the liver begins to become inflamed and scarred. Once scar tissue develops around the liver, the liver becomes brittle and tough rather than soft and spongy, as it should be. As a result, the blood is unable to work its way through the liver and cirrhosis is a likely outcome. People who have cirrhosis of the liver are also likely to develop diabetes which is a lifelong disease that may require insulin injections and other medications to prolong or sustain life.

My group of friends swear by RU-21. They recently changed their label directions, but if you go by the old ones, it worked rather well. It was to take 2 pills before drinking and then 1 or 2 with each drink. I've survived many a litre of beer by using RU-21.

If you really want something that really works and doesn't cost much and makes perfect sense read on!
The reason u feel like sh!t is a. you poisoned yourself and b. Your dehydrated because your body needs 2-3 times the water to alcohol for the liver to break it down, and c all that urinating depleted your body of nessassary nutrients and water soulable vitiamins.
The cure!
Step one posion control: Activated charcoal has been used for 1000's of years to treat food posioning and such. It is still given in emergency rooms today. You can obtain sterile medical grade stuff through your pharmacy or online health/vitimin store it is used in herbal cleansing. MIx 1 teaspoon with water and drink to quiet a upset stomach.
Step two Rehydrate! Many people will tell you sports drink like gatorade but I recommend childrens pedialyte. The reason being is gatorade has only one electrolyte and lots of sugar. You don't want a suger rush and crash right now! The pedialyte is formulated for infants so its really fast and easy to metabolize, your stomach will thank you later.
Step three: Because you went and went and went somemore you passed all your minerals particulary potassium and magnesium as well as water soluable vitamins like c. You need to restock the shelves. You could take a vitamin pill and wait till hell froze over for it to get to your bowel or you get a bottle of liquid multi vitamins at any good vitamin store ( gnc) and keep it in the fridge. Just double or triple the recommanded daily dose on the label and add it to your pedialyte.
Lastly let me add a few things avoid things like red bull that have tons of caffine as these will dehydrate you more and although the hair of the dog can make you feel better by slowing your crash it's still a crash. If you do all what I put above you will feel about 70% better in one hr depending on you and what you did to yourself. Then have somemore.
Sleep is the final key and is usually the hardest to get, but try anyhow.
PS. If you can avoid aspirin and tylenol they just mask the pain. You don't feel like this cause your body is low on aspirin.
Here's a clip from a medical study, tell me the symptoms aren't the same as a hangover!
Symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency?
What are some of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency? They are outlined beautifully in a recent article by Dr. Sidney Baker. Magnesium deficiency can affect virtually every organ system of the body. With regard to skeletal muscle, one may experience twitches, cramps, muscle tension, muscle soreness, including back aches, neck pain, tension headaches and jaw joint (or TMJ) dysfunction. Also, one may experience chest tightness or a peculiar sensation that he can't take a deep breath. Sometimes a person may sigh a lot.
Here's one w/ potassiums;
The symptoms of potassium deficiency include muscle weakness, confusion, irritability, fatigue, and heart disturbances. Athletes with low potassium stores may tire more easily during exercise, as potassium deficiency causes a decrease in glycogen (the fuel used by exercising muscles) storage.
So now you know why every muscle in your body aches and the smallest task has u out of breath and you feel so tired........
Lastly I included two links if you read about the symptoms of magnesium/potassium deficiency. Please verify everything!

Ive tried chasers a few times before I went out when I had work the next day. I can honestly say I didnt notice that big of a difference. My advice is to eat fatty foods before you drink because it will absorb the booze better.
