Hi tomcruise

The creation story in the bible needs to be read with its intended audience in mind.

Suupose for a moment that the story was directly inspired by god, and that it is the word of god. How far do you think god is going to get with a group of ancient people if the creation story goes like this:

"In the beginning there was a patch of quantum foam. A random fluctuation in this foam grew into a small space-time bubble. The temperature and energy density of this bubble were so high that the four fundamental forces were unified. In the first 10^-42 seconds I broke the symmetry between gravity and the other interactions, and the bubble continued to grow. At around 10^-34 seconds I caused the bubble to be filled with an inflation field with high positive expansion constant and the universe doubled in size every 10^-34 seconds. And there 100 such doublings. At the end of this inflation period I caused the field to decay, transitioning the now enormous universe back to a more stable vacuum state and dumping energy density back into the cosmos. Around this time I broke the symmetry between the strong nuclear interaction and electroweak symmetry and behold the quark gluon plasma was born.

"Then I rested for some 10^-12 seconds, and saw that the universe was good... but hot and smooth and still expanding. So next I...."

Most people *today* that I explain big bang theory to sit there and drool at me. How on earth were a bunch of primitive stone masons and herders supposed to get it? So...it's a parable. I like to remind people of faith that their god created more than just a holy book, he/she created a universe too. If you want to go about understanding how the universe works, look at the universe, or ask people who look at the universe. The bible won't help you with science.

Hope this helps!

As a Pastor and lifelong Christian I will tackle that question.

(In these brackets I will help to explain more to make better understanding.)

Here is what is written in the first book of the Bible.....

" In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (God created everything that exist). Now the earth was a formless (The Earth was without any form and a void) and empty, darkness (Darkness was everywhere) was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God (God was everywhere) was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. (BOOM or Bang. Maybe even a Big Bang!) God saw that the light was good (All things God creates are good), and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day." - Genesis 1 :1-5 (The word Genesis is Hebrew for beginning)

Tell me, How long is a day - compared to God's standards? How does God measure one day??? Is it 24 hours or a million years? The Bible does not say. Until we know how God measures a day we will never know how long a day in the book of Genesis really is.

Or answer this question, What came first the Chicken or the Egg? Those who believe in God know the answer. And those to tend to believe in theory of evolution cannot answer this question because the futher back you go science starts to break down and is lost.

“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”- Albert Einstein

Even Einstein knew you can't have one without the other. He knew that science can only answer so much. But what happens when people are confronted with something that science cannot explain or ever answer? Example: a person with a deathly illness. This person is going to die. All medical science proves it. Nothing can be done to save the person. Then suddenly, this person is miraculously cured. All the science know to man cannot explain it. That is where faith comes in. Science cannot answer everything and Einstein knew that.

Just like the slogan for the TV show the X-files, "The truth is out there!", now it all come down to what you believe. Can you handle the truth?

Beginning/God created the heavens and the earth.

1st day) Light/Darkness..Day/night..(from the surface of the earth, one could not see the sun, like a cloudy day)

2nd day) air/expanse between the waters above and waters covering the earth.

3rd day) The waters that covered the earth receded to let the earth become visible, calling the waters seas. Also vegetation appeared. (we are aware that if the surface of the earth was a pure circle that the earth would be totally covered with one sea)

4th day) The sun and moon and stars became visible from the surface of the earth. (to shine on earth, vs. 17)

5th day) Souls in the water; great sea monsters, (vs.21) and flying creatures.

6th day) Animals, wild and domestic. And near the end of this day, man and woman.

7th day) God rested from works of creation. (Gen. 2:2,3)

We are 6,000 years approximately into this rest day with the last 1,000 being the 1,000 year reign of Christ. That is why many believe the *days* of creation are 7,000 years long. Hebrews 4:3-11. At the end of the 1,000 year reign, when Paradise is restored and the Devil and his rebels are destroyed, God may say that; 'the 7th day turned out good.' Rev. 20:7-10; Rev 21:1-4.

If these calculations are correct, the first day of God's attention to preparing the earth for man, began about 48,000 years ago. The bible also says that a day is 1,000 years to God. So, the creation days could be 7,000 years long, or a week of 1,000 year days. The 1,000 year reign of Christ would finish the 49,000th year. The Jews celebrated a Jubilee on the 50th years which could picture the 50,000 th year as a time of great celebration to the true God. (Leviticus 25:10)

I don't think you know how to read or maybe you are reading a novel. The Bible is very clear. Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1: 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1: 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1: 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1: 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Well technically the story of creation is a story. it was written by moses who was raised by a pharoh (who believed himself the sun god). So the story of creation has a bit of ancient egypian flavor to it. However scientifically it can be explained. Ok, six days to create the world..... seems impossible, but what if one of God's days was an eon long? God seems to work first of all over long periouds of time, second, uses natural events to get the job done. A good example is breaking Paul out of prison in the new testament.... earthquake. Also here'a another thing to rock your world..... Since Adam and Eve are supposedly the first people (in genesis) and they had two sons and no daughters are mentioned, (wait until you see where I'm going) Cain murdered Able, then asked God to mark him so the others would not kill him, and he took a wife, (it says so) First who were the others if adam and eve are the only other ones, and second, who did Cain take as a wife. I doubt he took his own mother since he had to leave that area..... So, I don't think you should take the bible totally literally. Hope this helps. I can also give you scientific proof of many other things such as the design of the crucifix is only partly correct. The design Christianity displayes is flawed and never would have worked. I researched it and know the actural design.

the start of the universe is between the iffiest aspects. I settle for that so a procedures as we are able to understand, there is the prospect of a author god. yet a author god (or 'smart author') does not propose a suitable, omnipotent, benevolent god that cares about us. For that variety of 'god' I have seen little evidence for and an excellent style of evidence antagonistic to. So even if the universe has a author, I see no clarification why I might want to inevitably care about him/her/it as they were probably little more advantageous than a blind watchmaker. certainly, if the 'god' of the Bible did exist, he doesn't be something i'd want to have something to do with, in simple terms as i doesn't want to have something to do with human mass-murderers and sociopaths. the tremendous Bang theory does not of necessity require a god. that is not a suitable theory and that i do not comprehend it completely. i will warrant that we probably do not have an concepts-blowing answer immediately, and, granted, i do not understand how a lot i visit really communicate in this because i have not appeared into each and each and every of the complicated string theory/multi-universe theories and inspite of else justifies the tremendous bang theory on a miles extra complicated factor. yet I imagine that the clinical approach will have the ability to get us a extra precise answer interior the destiny because it continually has interior the previous.

If you bother to read the creation stories in the Bible, you will find two distinct version of creation given. Surprise, it also contains two versions of the creation of man, oops! can't both be right. Maybe you can figure it out. I guess the inerrant word of God may contain a few errors.

Silly child, there is no "theory of creation" in the Bible! The Bible is not a technical manual, or a science textbook!
When God said "Let there be Light", He was not talking about the sun.

I knew Captain Kirk was wrong when he said he did something yesterday on the Enterprise. How could he have a day where there was no earth and no Sun?

Anyhow you read it wrong. Heavens, earth, light(sun), day/night (rotation)......first day.

Gathering into dry land (Earth), and water (Seas) ...third day

It only takes a couple of minutes to read it. Why not do that before mouthing off?

One answer.
Why don't you read another religion's book?
Qur`an for example.
And then you compare.
You can see the specific scientifical facts in the Qur`an!
Such as, the Big Bang theory, the revolution of Sun (It is proved by scientific researches!).T
The Qur'an approved the Big Bang Theory, y'know!
