Because Bush wants open borders and the local cops are instructed to leave illegal immigrants alone. They are controlled by the government. The people have spoken but the government isn't listening.....)(

The way things are right now, local law enforcement does not have the authority to detain illegal aliens. We have gotten an excellent bill passed in the house, It is the Senate who wants to give all the amnesty and green cards. Help us get the house bill put into law. Join us at numbersusa.com

Because there are not enough local cops to take care of the local problems, however they often assist in special cases.

Um, because there are actual real problems for them to deal with. And arresting the people who keep the city functioning from the bottom up is not one of them.

It most places they are not allowed to do so. More and more they do assist, but only when their bureacrats allow them to so. I don't even think they are supposed to run citizenship checks on people they bring in. That is something they want to change in the near future.

some places they want to but aren't allowed. In other places they don't want people to refuse to come forward because they are illegally here. In all places they don't have funding and haven't been given adequate detention space.

Are you asking why they aren't arresting them? It's because they have more serious issues to deal with, you know like murder and theft and keeping the general population safe.

They try... but if they focus too much energy on it... we would have less police for what they normally do.... they are already spread thin....
