Southeast Asia is a huge area. In what countries are you planning to backpack? You will find that most things you may require are available "in country" so I wouldn't worry about that.

Main thing is have enough money to see you through any emergency. A phone to stay in touch anywhere you are. Comfortable clothes and shoes and a light windbreaker for the wet season. Not to mention clean underwear to feel good. Have fun, it will be good if you know some local words if you are planning to travel into the countryside, in whichever country. Have fun.

depends on the countries you'll be visiting. do not forget to use a money belt, bring alcohol (the ones doctor use ok) and sunblock
