Does any one know where a good geneology site is that will give decenants and ancestors of the person you look up, I've tried Later Day Saints Site and Geneology.com- I need something completely free because I'm a broke married college student.

Join the club, but here are a few that I know of.
1.census-online (make sure you type the hyphen btwn census
2.rootsweb.com
3.alhn.com (american local history network)
4.cyndislist.com
5.Sometimes your local library can help you, or another library in that state of your ancestors.
6.Sometimes families have sites up of their family history, try typing in (Go to Google) and type in "quotes" the name of the people.
If I remember more I will get back with you. These are all free sites ! Good luck !

Almost all states, counties and cites have their own web site with lots of good information. There are lots of message boards for each state, county, surname, ect. If you gave me more information on whom you are trying to find, birthdate, state, county if you know, I could give you a lot more specific information that would fit your needs.
