How beautiful the world would have been if she hadn't done that....

We are speaking of original sin here, correct? The first sin ever committed was supposedly when Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and convinced her husband to do the same. However, I would like to point out that the first sin was not committed by Eve, but by God. You see, God told Adam and Eve that if they ate from The Tree of Knowledge that they would die the very day they ate it (Genesis 2:16, 17). The serpent only told Eve the truth when he said that eating from the tree would not kill her but would actually open her eyes to the knowledge of good and evil. She and Adam ate the fruit and did indeed become aware of the difference between good and evil, but they did not die (Genesis 3:1-7). Therefore, they also became aware of something God did not want them to know: that he had lied to them about the fruit and obviously had motives for doing it. God’s motives for trying to keep Adam and Eve from eating of the tree of knowledge are revealed in Genesis 3:22-24: He feared the humans’ potential to become like himself and those with whom he dwelt. That is why he threw them out of the Garden of Eden, because he was afraid they may decide to eat from the Tree of Life and become immortal (Genesis 3:22-24). His motives were fear not love. The banishment from Eden, according to the above verse was not so much a punishment as it was a means of protecting himself and his fellows from the humans. After all, what does it mean if the creation is as powerful as the creator? It means that the creator is no longer in control and may even be vulnerable to his own creation!

According to the words of the Holy Bible, what Eve really did was question and go against the words of her maker, a Being who was indeed revealed as one whose word was not to be trusted or believed. It becomes clear, then, that if it is evil and a sin to disobey God, and it is also evil and a sin to lie, then it was God who sinned first, not Eve. It also becomes obvious that sin DID exist before Eve and Adam ate the fruit (God lied to them before they ate it), they were just unable to have knowledge of it, until they ate the fruit. That means that Eve did not bring sin into the world, it was already here before she ever ate the fruit.

So, if you are angry about the unfair punishment God dealt out to Eve and her ancestors for being brave enough to find out the truth, then I do not blame you. However, you may want to consider turning your frustrations toward the one who actually deserves them: GOD. If the bible is to be believed, then God was not only the one who committed the original sin that day, but was also revealed as being evil as well as good.

Let me pose another question to you...

When you are judging someone where are you looking with your spiritual eye?

Where should you be looking?

Also consider this... The eating of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil was basically and act of rebellion. Since you have such knowledge (what is good and what is not) how many times a day to you act in rebellion against this knowledge. It seems to me that every time you act against this knowledge you are in a sense reaching up, picking the fruit, and taking a great big bite.

Then again I could be wrong...

Then again I'm not even a Christian... So what do I know, eh?

I would recommend reading Ishmael by Daniel Quinn for an interesting incite to the Adam and Eve tale. It speaks very eloquently on the matter as we may have voluntarily left Eden and were not kicked out.

Why is it said that Eve was created by one of Adam's ribs and by her biting an apple caused original sin? These inherited beliefs are subjugating woman to inferiority and empowering men. Beliefs were formed and instilled by men with the desire to control the mind.

Eve didn't do it, both did. Why do you have such a very negative judgment? You don't even know anything about the story. And you expect life to be perfect? Get a life, man! Just live in your own dream.

lol interesting... i wish she hadn't also. i hate my period and wish i could just pop out a baby in 24 hrs. but hey... oh well. lol besides, how do we know that that story is even "true" anyway? it was probably adam who did it, but because we all know how guys hate to be wrong, he blamed it on eve. god figured, "eh, why not" and here we are today. he (god) made up for it though, by making man- and i really mean man, the male of our species, be the ruining force of this planet. war, pollution and just plain stupidness. lol

I'm pretty sure the human race wouldn't exist if Eve had refrained from eating that apple.

If Adam and Eve wouldn't have sinned, someone would have thru the centuries. Satan would have gotten to someone else with that tree standing in the middle of the garden.

The Bible teaches, actually, that Christians are supposed to judge fairly and accuratly those inside the church.

In fact, we are supposed to expell unrepentant people from our churches.

The person in this bible verse was sexually involved with his father's wife .... (second marriage, or maybe his father had more than one wife..I hope it wasn't his real mother)

1 Cor. 5:11-13 (NIV)
But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
[12] What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? [13] God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."

If the person repents and returns to the church asking forgivness...we are to accept them back in and not bring up the issue unless they want to speak about it.
