I've seen silver plated roses for ring bearers to hold...the top flips up and the ring is inside. http://www.bridalpeople.com/ring-bearer-pillows/9387.asp

Or...there's also a horseshoe you can use

There's also a heart shaped box on that site

You can also use this

You could also just tie the ring onto something that goes with the theme of your wedding...if the wedding is on the beach, for instance, or has a beach theme...you could tie the rings to a starfish or seashell....

It's a difficult quesiton to answer since I don't know the theme of the wedding...but there are a few ideas for you...

If you could get a couple of larger flowers (like gerber daisies or even some very hearty roses) and tie the rings to the stem with ribbon, that could be pretty, especially if you used one flower for each ring and had the ring bearer carry them in on a silver tray.

If your ring bearer is a bit older (more like 7 or 8), you could fill a glass bowl with something soft and have the rings sit in that. Maybe a shallow bowl, the kind you might float a candle or two in, with some sand in the bottom and the rings gently laid on top of it, maybe situated on a small piece of fabric or a tiny "pillow."

A nicely decorated box, maybe a carriage with the ring nestled in the middle. Actually the rings don't even go on the pillow, the best man and maid/matron of honor hold them. So, you could possibly not have a ring bearer. Just a thought...

Perhaps a small jewelry box or a a Cinderella horse and carriage jewelry box. Even a single big flower (perhaps a begonia, carnation or even a rose) with the rings on top.

Instead of a pillow, you might consider using a small basket. have silk or velvet in the bottom. you could decorate it with ribbons.

Maybe if your spouse is interested in cats or dogs, buy a puppy or kitten and place them on a nice collar.
