A very good question. Of course the religious folks will say that it's all our fault - We were all perfect until Eve ate an apple, or whatever the current mythology is. They fail to realise that the concept of an omnipotent god means that nothing can happen that is not as he wishes it - You can't say that someone else controls something in the universe against his will because an omnipotent god is necessarily responsible for absolutely everything that occurs. If we do evil and god created us then god created evil - It does in fact say this in the bible. So if you believe in god you have to believe that he is responsible for all the evil and suffering that has ever occurred.
As to why... well the obvious answer is that we're imperfect and we create the gods in our imagination so the story simply *has* to say that god created an imperfect being, otherwise religious folks couldn't account for our existence. Not that they can anyway, but you know what I mean...

He did not create an imperfect being. Sin is a choice. Jesus was/is perfect he was/is both God and man. He went through the same trials and temptations as us and did not sin. God knew we could not do the same which is why He sent Jesus to die for us. He created us perfect when Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil sin was brought into this world. Each of us have free agency and each of us are born perfect with out sin, but as we grow we sin. When we accept Christ we are forgiven, This was/is Gods plan or us. He is God and knows what is best. He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, even the bad things we do or that happen to us.

God would not create an imperfect being. Adam & Eve were the first human beings created. They were perfect until they (chose) to sin against God. As a result of that sin, they became imperfect beings. They passed that sin/imperfection to all humans.

The concept of perfection goes side by side with the concept of imperfection. Same with beauty and ugliness. One cannot exist without the other. Therefore, having a perfect world would eliminate the need to use the concept of perfection.
Perfection means absolutely no imperfection. Therefore, the concept of God represents perfection of a unique being. If he's unique and perfect, therefore, nothing else can be perfect, except being that can change, humans for example. They can try to better themselves by trying to be like Him.

It's not that direct a process, God designed the method by which people create each other. All imperfections are the fault of bad genetic pairings. If people would compare DNA prior to sex, there would be fewer imperfect beings in the world.

actually God did not create an imperfect being. God created a being that has the ability to act on will, not instinct like the other animals. It is human will that makes the choices of their path.

What makes you think SHE did? Ppl aren't perfect or imperfect. Ppl have strengths and weakness depending on that person. Just b/c ppl sin or make different choices then you, doesn't mean they are imperfect are bad ppl!
Also remember God has a funny sense of humor. Dont make everything so damn serious!

Because He is perfect and there is only one God. If he created a bunch of perfect beings, wouldn't he just be adding other gods to the world?

god has not created an imperfect being, in my opinion the devil corupts people and make the seem imperfect but generaly we are perfect as long as we stick to gods pefect plan. this is what makes us perfect or imperfect.disease and crime is not a part of gods plan which is usualy the determineing factor of imperfection in this situation,however if you notice disease and crime has increased over the years and melliniums as man has evolved into our society today. which leads me to believe that satin is the imperfect one because he dirties us and makes us unclean.

He wanted man to solve things for themselves. Between right and wrong. Either listening to God himself or following the Devil. he lets you decide from right and wrong. Which is why we have corruption and violence in this world. The Devil is trying to win a war with God. So if you listen to the Devil, obviously there are consequences.
